Jubilee Bracelet "Hecho en Mexico"

Fellow TRF members, just purchased this Julbilee bracelet oval link, hecho in Mexico. Trying to put my old GMT 1971 back together again from when I first purchased it. Take a look at the pics and let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Mike

I only know that this flipped piece would uncontrollably annoy my OCD to the next level.

It takes about 30 seconds to flip that ring to the correct position.

The seller is one of the best on ebay. The bracelet looks fairly correct right down to the correct end links which were different than those found on the USA oval-link Jubilees but the top of the clasp is from the USA oval-link Jubilee.

This isn't the pics that I posted from ebay. Trying to figure out what members think as to the authenticity of the bracelet.

One more time..........regarding the bracelet on ebay

I have an older GMT as well with an oval link TT jubilee bracelet, made in USA. That listing looks just like mine but all steel, the only difference is the clasp which may be unique to the Hecho in Mexico versions. Here's a pic of the clasp on mine for the experts to weigh in if they so desire.

OT but do you know the name of the subcontractor that manufactured these? And which city they were made in? Just curious about the history.

Not sure, most likely Mexico City. Sucks, because I had the same bracelet when I obtained the watch in 1989 in El Paso, TX, and the other bracelet is some at my grandma's house in California, just have been unable to find it. Once I do will sell it, don't need 2!

It's likely a Joske's bracelet. Should say either Joske's on it or J/M, which means Joske's/Mexico. These are nice bracelets. I don't have enough posts to put up a link, so go to omega forums and search for "joske's hecho" to find a ton of info.

Here's a little info from the Omega Forum thread I mentioned (the quote is mine):

"In 1867 Julius Joske founded a department store in San Antonio, Texas. By the 1950's it was the largest store in Texas, and by some accounts, the largest in the country. It was also a Rolex authorized dealer. Joske's had Rolex jubilee bracelets made for them in Mexico in the '60s and '70s."
