Bezel problem on gold Lady Datejust

Hi

I have a lovely vintage gold lady datejust from the 1970s. I noticed today that the bezel seemed to be sitting slightly higher on one side of watch, and when I checked it out (fingers only) it slid off. It doesn't appear to have a spring or any obvious way to fix it back on. I would really appreciate any advice about how to fix it back on.

Many thanks
Sarah

If I understand well, it is just the bezel that is not in place . These were push fit and secured the crystal as well. You better post some pictures, or take the watch to a service center. Beware that the hands are not obstructed in their move by a possibly moving crystal.

It's likely that the crystal has become stiff and brittle so the bezel, which helps seal the crystal to the case, no longer grips.

It is also likely that your crystal is no longer water tight. The fix is to have the crystal replaced. This should keep the bezel in place and ensure that your watch does not suffer water damage. (you probably should have all the seals changed)

You need a bezel press tool

Thanks everyone- I suspect the watch is not water tight and I don't risk it near water. The acrylic crystal does appear to have a crack which is visible now the bezel is off. Are there any recommendations of watch service places- I will be in Switzerland for Christmas if needs be, but I live in the north west of England. I think I saw mention of Seth somewhere?

Happy to post photos but don't seem to be able to do it on an iPad.
