Rant for the day....

Well, starting yesterday too.
I take my car in yesterday for the "free" brake fluid change.
First, there are accidents on the highway, so the 16km trip takes me an hour.
The courtesy car they give me is a huge boat, POS, not like my 325.
Get back to the office, they call me.
We noticed unever tire wear, think you should consider a wheel alignment.
GO for it.
We notice your tread is getting low, they will be okay, but you might want new rubber.
I know winter is coming, can't beat fresh tire, so go for it.

When we were pulling of the wheels, your right rear rim is damaged beyond repair, that will be another $500.
Whatever.

My plan WAS, drop the car off, planned to pick it up later that day, and then continue on to get my Daytona from the AD.
BUT, they won't have it ready until this morning.
I figure, sure, I can pick it up this morning, then head down to get my watch.
Well , it is now 1:15, too late for me to make the trip to the AD after picking up my car.
PLUS, if they wait any longer I will be stuck in rush hour traffic getting home.
AND, I am heading BACK into town tonight to watch a hockey game.
SO, I will on the freaking road for HOURS because of their delay.

I have left FOUR messages for them to call me ASAP so I can get my car back..

I have NO LUCK with BMW stealerships.

And how is your day going?

Welcome to the 21st century... Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong time era. Give me a horse, rifle, knife and sidearm and I would do just fine. You have my sympathies...

I had a chance to get back at them recently when BMW USA called to inquire as to how my "service" at Perillo in Chicago went. I blasted them with both barrels.

Got the car.
They didn't have the broken parts to show me and the paperwork was not ready.
Pick up took 30+ minutes.
Can't wait for the call from BMW Canada to see how the warranty work went.

Do you have the 19" alloys and Bridgestone runflats?

If so that's £300 ($550) per corner from an AD.

Luckily they wear very well and I hope to have flipped mine before it needs its 4 new "boots".

hmmm. yesterday took my vehicle to the dealer and they told me new brakes front and back, bleed braking system, replace emergency brake release cable, repair kit to stop rattle in steering column, oil filter and lube(synthetic only), emissions and mechanical state inspection, change radiator fluid, total cost with taxes, $2067.00. After I picked up the vehicle, took it to an old friend, and he did the whole job for just about $625.00, complete.
lost use of the car for 1.5 days, and took cabs and 'bummed' rides from secretary and friends. sounds like we had a day somewhere about equivalent in terms of aggravation.
LESSON? Listen to your friends when they tell you to get a second opinion. Dealers are depending on their sevice bays to bail them out in the absence of any car sales. Don't be their life raft. Get fair value for your hard-earned money.

Not sure. There was a "bend" on the inside. It fatigues the aluminum & they thought it would not hold the bead.
$350 to repair of $500 to replace.

One of two things happened. I was at a clients, and I backed over "something". I heard a thud, but didn't see anything.
Two, it is our really crappy roads. On the route to work, they have had road construction for about 8 months now. There are grooves, ridges, pot holes, ruts, uneven pavement, gravel spots, nasty "jumps"......
Anyway, $2465 later, I have new rubber & one new rim. ( not a rim job)
BTW, only 16" rims and run flat Bridgestones.
