Is this a FrankenRolex?

Hello! This is my first thread on this Forum (yay)!

I was just looking around local pawn shops and saw this Rolex. First I'm not considering buying a Rolex at a pawn shop, I'm currently waiting for a 36mm OP but I like to look around. I saw this Datejust (16014) and thought "this doesn't seem right." The only Datejust that I can think of with this dial is the Puzzle dial.

I'm not an expert on the reference as I'm new to the watch collecting world but my thinking is that this watch is a FrankenRolex? The dial and watch combination doesn't exist. Am I wrong? What do y'all think?

Welcome to the forum! You are correct; no such watch and dial combination exists. You have effectively answered your own question

This is imitating the celebration dial and not the puzzle dial. The watch could be anything from a customized 16014 to a full blown Chinese replica. I would’ve asked the pawn shop person instead of the forum but that’s just me

'Case, crown, dial, bracelet, nothing is even close to being part of a real Rolex watch.

The place is an hour south from where I live, and it's not worth the drive to inquire something questionable.

Oooh, I know that place! Though I've only been in 1x. When I went in the only mechanical watches they had were a handful of bad looking Seikos.

For it to be a Frankenwatch would imply that it is an assembly of real parts, which is not a given considering the pictures.

The rest looks like a beat up, yet genuine 16014. So yeah it’s a Franken

The weirdest part is that it looks like someone faked this dial with a colored plastic sheet over an original Rolex dial. Maybe it could be removed, because it seems to me that the original text is still visible under this kitsch.
