All this scratch paranoia is ridiculous. People not wearing their watches, saving them for special occasions, covering clasps with 3M clear tape, wearing the watches with stickers on, etc... I am not saying you need to mistreat your watch, but if you wear it and enjoy it, it is going to get scratched, no big deal.

This!

I can and do wear my 3712a as part of a regular rotation. Just have to have wrist awareness and don’t be stupid.

My 5712 1a after 7 years. Some period of frequent wear, some periods of infrequent wear.

Still looks very nice imo.

Gosh, I love this thread. I have a Tiffany 5712A and wear it a few times a month. It's so fantastic to see folks posting scratched up 5712s here. I feel like in the frenzy of the last few years people are all obsessed with "mint" watches, which is, of course, absurd imho. These aren't bonds. They're watches. WEAR THEM FOR CHRIST'S SAKE. It's not like if you ever want to sell it some scratches will cause you to lose money.

100%

If you're too scared to scratch your watch due to resale value, you can't afford it.

I’m going to diversify again, as I think this will fit in nicely.(Incoming pics soon)

I’m planning on giving this a whole lot of wrist time VS my PT Daytona.

Any owners out there that would like to share their feelings on wearing this as a daily? Or at least 4 to 5 times a week?

Thanks for any input, I appreciate it!

I wear my 5990 as a daily, albeit in rotation. No problems at all. Bezel has a few marks now, but it’s worth it to get proper wear out of it.

Id be more worried about getting robbed and having to wait God only knows how long for an AD to replace the 5712 with all this Patek hype. Otherwise get your moneys worth and wear it daily within reason.

I see these comments often but how much you want to bet that State Farm, Liberty Mutual, etc would likely be able to come up with one from an AD fairly easily when/if need be.

Great pics.

Guess really this whole mint obsession is in line with treble / quadruple sell on prices

Dont get me wrong - I look after my watches but no way in hell I would keep stickered or do something ridiculous like put on clear tape LMAO

Guilty I still. Have the blue sticker on my clasp, but it looks so nice next to the orange strap

I think it's a bit like taking of the sticker on the new phone case
