Sounds like you are wanting something that can be worn without fear of damage - ie a tool watch. Could always consider other brands - Omega, Blancpain, Tudor (careful re aluminum bezels) A comparatively small investment for an every day wearer. Tough choice for sure. Sounds like a GMT, Exp II or sub SS or TT is the way you are leaning.
Maybe you could track down some pics of well used PM subs to see if that look is ultimately something you are ok with. |

I love my pm watches. I got them because I loved them. As for availability after pm, I'd say there has to be a $ amount you can reach at an AD to get more availability.

This +1 For me, it’s not necessarily that the watch doesn’t do it for me. This is somewhat an addiction, so after a purchase it doesn’t take me long to start thinking what’s next. Maybe the sub doesn’t do it for you or maybe it’s a case of what’s next. If it doesn’t do it for you, life is too short to not wear something you love. The only watch I never really bonded with was the Bluesy. Always wanted one and for some reason after a few months i never wore it again and sold it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Very nice looking watch. I do understand how you feel. A many years ago I traded a 116610 for a real nice 18238. I wore it a few times and just never got comfortable with it. The bracelet always felt odd on my wrist and pulled the hair enough to really annoy me. I loved looking at the watch, taking photos and such, but wearing it was not what I hoped it would be. At least not this particular watch. So, in the end I traded it for something else.
Hope it grows on ya. I have a TT blue Sub, but would love to have a PM blue Sub. Cheers, Tim |

Admittedly I’ve never owned a PM watch, so I can’t speak to your specific situation.
What I can say, is that if I go down that rabbit hole it will be a Day Date and not a professional reference. |

You cannot buy happiness. The watch you have is as good as it gets. If you don't get shear pleasure from admiring that watch every moment it is on your wrist, your money is best spent elsewhere. Elsewhere is not SS.

If it doesn't grow on you after a few days, sell it and find something that speaks to you. Life is short!

I had this happen with my olive DD40. It was my grail piece and turns out the weight and lack of easy adjustability in the bracelet exacerbated an old hand injury. Traded it in with some cash on top for 4 pieces and I’m definitely happier with spreading the value over several watches.

I felt quite the contrary and my SS are getting less and less wrist time.
If the PM Sub doesn't work for you than get rid of it

Anyone ever disappointed in a PM purchase?
Quote:
Did it take a while to get used to comfort? I tired on gold (and a few platinum watches) and they felt like lbs not ozs on my wrists. My SS watches are all relatively comfortable, but still rather heavy. Rocking that PM daily seems like more work than enjoyment (I am completely ignorant here though). Absolute beauty though! |

Stick with it, give it a chance. It's a beautiful piece. It will probably grow on you.

The YG Submariner is a great watch but maybe just not for you. Because you could not access the SS watches you wanted you went PM through your AD. Logical, but not what you wanted, so you end up resenting the money spent on the Submariner. You also will not look to the Grey market as you will not pay, so you are unhappy. You can't have it both ways. I would look to our Trusted Sellers here on TRF and find a dealer who has all of the watches you want and I would call them, not text or email, introduce yourself and explain what you would like to do. They will let you know your options and you can negotiate and get a fair deal for the watches you want. Notice how I said fair, not good. Pay the market value for a Hulk,Submariner or what ever else you want and move on. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Sounds like you need to decide if it's just a question of whether you picked the wrong PM piece, or PM is not for you. Either way, get what makes you happy.

I've never had disappointment in my PM purchases.
Sounds like maybe you should sell the YG Sub and chase the SS pieces you've been wanting. Or, give it some time and see if feelings change. |

1) The weight holds the watch head down to my wrist better. 2) The metal conducts heat better so it matches my body temperature - steel often feels cold on my wrist and very noticeable and rough. The weight isn’t super noticeable to me compared to SS, but these factors actually make it feel lighter and easier imo. |

Nope the exact opposite, bought my 16618ln over 3 months ago and it hasn’t left my wrist. You said you liked the Bluesy, give it a try, I owned one before and it’s a fantastic watch and NOT a downgrade from full PM if it is what your heart desires. Some pics of my LN and my Bluesy, gone but not forgotten .

I purchased my "gold grail" (16528) last year. I enjoy wearing my stainless Rolex's and then changing into gold on some days.

I think you're just either a PM person or you aren't. No shame, just personal preference.
The struggle between 1 PM piece or 2-3 SS pieces is a very real one, but I think this hobby has taught me I'd rather have one or two pieces I'm absolutely enamored with that 4-5 that I think are just good. I actually think the YG Sunburst Blue Sub is one of the best watches Rolex makes |

Not in the slightest. Bought a YG DDII for my 40th b'day, almost 5 years ago now, and it never fails to bring a smile to my face each time I wear it.
