You got the 6263 from your father and there is a lot of history behind the watch .Who inherits it ? (Personal question ,no need to answer )

Our family collection (My wife and I ) will go to our son and daughter .

My oldest son as he new his grandfather when he was still alive, but he will keep it in the family, like you say watch has much family history, which is far more important than any monetary value.

He was on aircraft carriers and his ship was sunk he was reported missing in action but after many many hours in a very cold sea he was picked up by a fishing vessel and somehow got back to the UK. He had a very short leave but was reassigned to another carrier till the war ended, and 30 years working underground in the coalmines years shortened his life. Now this Daytona is mine myself now 76 and in very poor health, but would not sell Dads watch at any price.

Outstanding. I agree, the new Daytonas don't move the needle for me so much, but these older ones sure do. Thanks for sharing.

I really love this timepiece and love the special sentimental meaning and value it has because of the connection with your father. I hope when I'm gone my family can wear my watches and hope that's one of the many ways they are happily reminded of me.
