Why the need to use any of these machine so called winder things defeats with me any Rolex watch. Especially with watches like the Daytona which has no date complication and a 70 plus power reserve.

This.

Just shake it a bit, wind it set time and move on. Beauty of a supremely built mechanical watch.

As a display, looks fantastic thanks for sharing. Knobs / control module matches to boot!

Agreed. I had my Daytona before my Sub Date, and kept it in a winder. After I got the Sub Date, instead of getting a second winder, I just kept the Daytona in a regular case. When a watch doesn't have a date complication, it's not really a big deal. Plus there's a sort of zen to winding one's watch. Starting to understand the appeal of manual wind watches.

Thanks for sharing. Do you have a single watch winder or multiple?

No need at all, just a nice box to tuck my current piece that I am wearing in at night.

Would you leave your $150k+ car outside or in the garage?

Just a single - whatever I am wearing for the few days will sit in there at night and the rest back to the safety deposit box.

Anyone else bought a Wolf winder during the current 70% off sale.
Mine arrived yesterday and it seems like an awesome deal.

I know some people hates winders, but couldn't resist at 70% off.
I will use it as storage. Won't be using the winding function.

Why did I buy it ?
I think it looks nice and it makes me smile when I look at it.
Same reasons why I buy my watches.
I don't race cars nor am I a diver.

Might even pick up a few more.

I used wolf winders before. They are nice winders, however I have changed my tune and I think the winder just makes for extra wear on the watch. I will be using just a pillow from now on.

What’s the reason for shaking the watch? Not being smart- just curious. I just wind a watch when the reserve is exhausted to bring it back to life...

Especially during Covid and staying at home, I think putting a watch on a winder is reasonable. Even if I have my watch on my wrist for a good part of the day, the actual winding is only a few minutes worth as I'm not walking much when I work at home. So I have found my watches to keep winding down and eventually stop during the evening hours when it is off my wrist. They also don't keep time very well as they are always on the lowest part of their power reserve. Thus my one active daily watch is on a winder. This way it is ready to go even if I only want to use it for a few hours and not move.
