Wouldn’t even be a second thought, the PP hands down and twice on Sunday.

And why?

*Hand made verses mass produced.
* It’s a Patek!
* The movement.
*Aesthetically pleasing to my eye.
*Has a date function.
*Love the moon phase function.

Voted Daytona, because a watch named "Nautilus" on a leather strap is hilarious.

Vote Daytona as well, because I like a watch to use it daily and not worry about it.

But it depends what you’re looking for in a watch. If you want a watch for special occasions only, like fancy dinners with corporate people in suits.... get the Patek

But if you want a watch that you can throw on, work on the garden, work on the car, go hiking with, go running with, go swimming with, take the Daytona.

Patek is patek and ugly is ugly. I’ve tried on the Nautilus 5712G and was underwhelmed. To small, to thin and frankly too effeminate.

The platinum Daytona has much more wrist presence, it’s heavier mass feels great on the wrist and looks much better in my opinion.

I won’t get into which is a tougher, more durable sports watch. (Hint, it’s not the patek).

Between the two, I would not consider the Patek.

If the PP was on bracelet that would be the winner. But that daytona is grail worthy.

If the Patek was full bracelet it would not be a discussion.

Pt would be too heavy for my preferences. 5712 would be too fragile on the bezel. Pass on both lol

I would choose the Rolex, the Patek looks like an outdated old mans watch. I don't like the mismatched non symmetrical off dial and don't forget all the QC issues, it's almost a certainty at the very least the the 12 oclock markers will be misaligned.

Platona as I own it. Fits my life style much better than a leather strapped watch. I can't live with a watch on leather other than as an occasional piece. Not for me.

I've looked seriously at both models and the brown aspect of each watch has been the deal breaker, ironically with the PP it is because that brown dial is not brown often enough and looks grey a lot of the time. I went for the 5711/1r in the end, has a bracelet and a true brown dial.

Ugly is not ugly, that is as subjective as it gets, not remotely definitive.

Ugh. Neither. If I had either one of these, I would have it flipped before the day is out. I agree with RTG, the nautilus and aquanaut are my absolute least favorite PP models. For the money I would consider vintage Daytona, or gmt.

This is obviously the main Rolex forum. Not necessarily between those two, but between Platona vs any range of comparably priced Pateks, I chose Platona. Incidentally, if I had to do it all over again, I would pick a AP over the Daytona.

I would take your 5711/1r over both as well! That is one stunning piece!

Between the two, slightly leaning towards the Plat Daytona. If the Nautilus was on a bracelet, then definitely the Nautilus.

Voted Daytona because the PP doesn't speak to me at all. But when it comes to buying one or the other, neither will ever get my money.

Platona is just so versatile. It would be a harder choice between the 5711/1R and Platona.
