5513 submariner 1968 MK ?

I'm currently looking for some clarification, I have a 5513 submariner 1968 but require clarification of what MK its is? I understand that this relates to the dial and I my case it has an early matt service replacement.

can anyone offer any clarification as to what MK it would be.

Many thanks "H"

The only 5513's with a MK_ designation for the dial are the maxi dials which came later. Yours appears to be a non-serif dial which is on the cusp of being correct for the year (what's serial first 4 digits?). A little earlier would be a meters first dial.

On the insert, you have an mk4 which must have been replaced at service at some point.

Hope this helps. 5513mattedial.com is a great resource if you want to learn more.

there is no MK to be had on your watch: it should have been a MF Meters First,
but what you have is a mongrel...
possibly 60s case, certainly over polished (even that we would need to see pics of engraving to verify)
service insert
later dial as you pointed out
replaced hands
wrong crown
....
there really isnt much left unfortunately :(

think this is the right assessment.

They have serviced it, replacing a number of original parts with service parts.

many thanks for the responses, Its been regularly services (as indicated by the marks inside the case) it is a 1968 5513, and has had service replaced parts, on the up side all parts are genuine Rolex and was serviced by them prior to my purchasing of it,

once again many thanks for the input.

Hi Nickn many thanks, sadly there was no previous history however the previous owner was V serious about services, the inside of the case back has multiple service marks, supported by the service replacement parts and the fact it had recently (prior to my purchase) been seen / serviced by Rolex was the main reason I bought it,

I know theres a lot of purist that would be inclined to disregard it however I'm happy with it and will continue enjoy it for what it is,

Cheers Fella
