Any interest in Sydney GTG Fri January 22nd?

Another annual shout out to the fantastic Sydneysiders of the boards....
Would love to have another evening out whilst I'm in town, if there's interest and availability.. I know it's a hectic time of year, with the school holidays and Xmas break etc, but if you can make it, please post your interest and we will see if something can be arranged....

I'm thinking the Rocks, or Quay area would be ideal. Or, CBD is fine..

Enjoy your Christmas everyone, safe travels, and speak up if you can attend!!

Rob.

Instead of the usual 5+ schooners pre dinner, would there be any appetite in a whisky tasting tour of Sydney?

Quite a few places have sprung up lately, in fact Sydney has some bars that stock fantastic and quite rare goods.

If anyone likes their Japanese gear you'll know how rare they are, like NOS DRSDs.

More than welcome Alan.

Sorry guys on dropping the ball one this one.... I've been on the move since Xmas morning with travel and family commitments etc.

I've just got back to Sydney, but only a short stay again before heading north.

Anyway, without being a local, my knowledge on the dinning establishments in the Rocks and surrounding areas is limited. But, I've been given two possible tips on venues in the general area.. Namely Sake, and Aria.
Not sure of any first hand experience to these two venues, or if anyone else cares to offer up a suggestion, but these maybe a possibility if there is interest?!
I'm not sure on availability etc, or whether they require a deposit/set menu for a large group, but I do think we need to lock in numbers and venue soon before to long...
I'd be also open to a basic pub menu if that's the consensus and or low numbers......

Either way, hope we can can bring the night together. I hope you all had a great Xmas and New years....

Rob,

I was more than happy with last year's chinese. I also suggested last year the wine room at flying fish it would be circa $150 a head. So Chinese may be an easier compromise.

If it came to pub's there are a couple of good choices in Balmain in the London and the East Village hotel (both are rated in the top 15 pubs in Sydney). Happy to go with a darling harbour option again, more important we get together than the food to be honest.

This sounds like a good time to draw the BLNR Giveaway.....
I'll try to be there but depending on circumstances I will need to review that as the date gets closer.

Thanks for the heads-up Rob. We're back from Japan just before that, so will be able to join this list of distinguished gentleman and dames.

Steve, great idea for the draw, happy to help any way needed.

Looks like we are going to do the BLNR draw !

Stevo also announced that in the giveaway thread.

Details to be finalized in regards to who will perform the draw and how.

We just need to confirm the venue now.
