One last pic before it goes...

... to AP Clearwater for Service. If anyone is wondering, they said expected turn around time is 8 weeks for ROOs. Going to be a long two months

Appears in your avatar like you have a proper stand in to accompany you during the wait.

This is probably my favorite Steel/TI colored ROO that is under 50k :).

My favorite one with that color combination is the GP platinum which unfortunately is too much :(.

If it takes longer than 8 weeks, I may just have to do that. I do have some other decent watches in the collection though so I should be ok

My other favorite is the Schumi but 44m is just too big on my wrist

Quick update: Got the estimate back for a complete maintenance for $1,380. This includes "opening of the watch, prewashing of the movement, dismantling of every component of the movement, preventive replacement of those subject to wear and damaged, washing of all the components, assembling of the movement and complete lubrication, timing, cashing up, final control"

1 week down... 7 to go

Eh that is high. hublot only charged like 600-800 for their full maintenance when I had it.

Hublot is not AP.

For OP that is a fair price for an older watch.

Do it and it will bring you many years of happiness.

Given how much I paid for the watch, $1400 isn't bad for a complete maintenance and piece of mind (and a 2 year warranty)

They are both in house movements. If anything I'd say the unico movement is better than the 44mm movement lol. I mean my AP lost 5-6 seconds a day where my unico lost maybe 1-2.

You are paying more for the name, let's be honest. Not because of some better maintenance work. Albeit with AP you get 2 years warranty vs hublot's 1 year. But with hublot they will still warranty stuff out of the standard 3 year warranty if it was obviously something wrong that you did not cause. Whereas AP tries to get out of every little thing possible.

So you could say the extra 500-600 goes to that 2nd year warranty. Which if you look at it that way may seem reasonable.

I'll say it again--Hublot is not AP.

I buy watches I like and could careless about nickel and dime stuff.

Take care.
