Think I was almost scamned

Met with a guy off Craigslist who sells watches and he brought this Daytona and was asking 17000. He did have boxes and card but didn't look right to me so I passed until we could meet at a jeweler

Your gut feeling is on point...first off the bezel numbers are off...either aftermarket or replica ceramic insert...the text on the dial is not crisp and bright as well...also the hands look off ..especially around the CP area..sub dial at nine not zero out...I call replica...Not 100%...sure.. but enough to bet there's a crappy Asian movement powering it....a couple more pics would be nice...but pretty sure it's a fake...be careful my friend...there are fakes that has 7750 movements in them that allows the chrono function to mimic Rolex...but the hands don't move like genuine Rolex movement..good luck..but be sure a AD rights off on it!

I'm not familiar with the new Daytona. Can you elaborate specifically on what looks fake about the bezel? I would live to learn from your expertise.

ETA or ETA clone?

I don't see your point here. Do you think it's real?

ETA 7750 movement does not have a version with running seconds at 6 o'Clock.

Who is the manufacturer of a "fake" mechanical chronograph movement with running seconds at 6 o' clock??

ETA do not make a 7750 movement with running seconds at 6 o' Clock!
Does anyone? I dont think so, that I can find.

Only quartz version mimic the Rolex 4130 movement, to my knowledge, with one SWISS exception

You can add multiple gears to redirect the running sec at 9 of the 7750 to the subdial at 6 or 12.

I've seen it before. Had one of these on the bench.

Actually they do have a 7750 with seconds at six module ...Asians been making them for years to sell to the China to put in cheap replicas ...I had a friend get ripped out of 10k on one of these...The way I read it...it a piece of junk...A fast Google Search and a little research you will find it...
