Even if (when) it’s launched tomorrow for Speedy Tuesday, it could still be months before they’re available.

I could be wrong, but someone on OF has noted that OB are expecting shipments in Jan. This is not first hand knowledge so believe what you may.

Reference #s

310.30.42.50.01.001 - Hesalite
310.30.42.50.01.002 - Sapphire

Pricing for EUR is $6200. Converted to CAD is around $9700 minus the taxes (in Canada taxes are after MSRP), I am guessing it will be around $8,500. Which is around a whopping 26% increase.

DAMN!

Sapphire will get close to 10K then

I'll consider one if they come with an adjustable clasp.

Same here, having the Hesalite make sense to get the Saphire

Interesting fact from official statements:

Even the dial shows the attention-to-detail that OMEGA has committed to this updated collection. In accordance with the Calibre 3861’s frequency, the minute track is now split by 3 divisions, as opposed to the 5 divisions on previous models.

I'm still not seeing anything about an adjustable clasp. Haven't seen any photos of the underside of the clasp. Can anyone verify one way or the other?

In the official statement there is no mention for adjustable clasp, see bellow :

Around the wrist, OMEGA has made yet more changes. An integrated, fully-brushed bracelet offers a five–arched-links-per-row design. Similar to Moonwatch styles of the past, it includes a new clasp with a polished OMEGA logo on a satin-finished cover.

I like the new strap, it is a bit like the snoopy strap. Overall I think more people will use it than a nato, it fits the persona of the watch better than the leather, and the bracelet remains to be worn. The old bracelets definitely didn't have the feel that a Rolex in a similar price range would have (comparing to this new references pricing).

Well that's unfortunate. No excuse for a modern watch in that price range to not includ some sort of on-the-fly adjustability in the clasp

There is no doubt these are nice, but my concern is that these watches unless Omega really pushes for it, may never see space. Increasingly I see the x-33 on the wrist of astronauts and NASA likely has a back stock of the 1861 in the warehouse some place, and so the older version may continue to be used for some time as was done with the 321 speedies in the 60’s. The 1861, version while never on the moon, it’s space credentials is beyond question as it has logged thousands of hours in space. If omega does not push for these new speediest to be on the wrist of astronauts, this new piece may become one of a long line of homage watches to the omegas that were worn in space.
