Imagine this?

A co worker of mine just received some watches from his late father who passed away this year in Florida. 1st is a 5512 Sub. 2nd is a stainless and gold, nipple dial black, GMT. 3rd is a black dial, stainless and gold Sub Date, solid end links and lug holes. And 4th is a 60's Speed Master. I hope he will post here and tell us the story of his father. 3 and maybe 4 of them have box and papers. All I can tell him is "WOW"!

YES Meister it was! Thank you. I remember a racing driver had one, I got the picture saved somewhere. I thought these were still reasonable price wise. Only one I see is at 12k, seems higher.

No. But it is a pre-moon. Odds are that it's a 145.012, but obviously better photos are needed since parts are often replaced.

It’s a shame those speedmasters don’t seem to age very well.

Fantastic set to inherit, but I'm certain he'd rather have his Dad.

His father was the crew chief on some very well known Unlimited boat racing teams in the 60's and 70's.

That is an amazing collection to inherit and I hope he enjoys them in great health.

I do agree with Vincent. As someone who has also inherited watches and jewelry from my father, I would much rather have my father around to enjoy watches with. Condolences to your friend.
