Advice on Pricing

I'm looking at a Panerai Pam 203 ca. 2000. What should I expect to be charged for it?

Pam 203

The reason I was asking is I am new to the watch hobby, but I saw this today:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=011

I'm not familiar with Pams, but I did some googling and found that if indeed the watch is what is is claimed to be, a collector's watch was going to auction for a small price.

I didn't bid, as I don't trust myself to identify a fake, but I'm just curious as to whether this looks like the real deal to you guys or not.

A Pam 203 (angelus) is one of the Holy grail of Pams. Retail is $25500. Used expect to pay a hell of a lot more.

What ever the seller wants would guess 90K and up. I believe that was what I heard one went for several months ago.

Okay, well if you guys want to click the link you will see that a supposed Pam 203 sold on ebay today for less than $2300. Now, the watch in the pictures looks pretty accurate to the Pam 203, as to whether or not the seller actually has it or intends to deliver it, that remains to be seen.

That watch is 100% fake. If you want a real 203 and can actually find a seller to sell you one, you'll pay six figures.

From a PAM site, 2007 Retail price - PAM 203 Luminor 1950 8-Day Angelus, steel case 47mm $23800.

If you look at the strap, on the bucklet it looks as if PANERAI is laser engraved, instead of stamped. Also how come the seller offers UPS next day air for $5.00 only? For a watch that's worth thousands? Totally fake.......... PS - the seller has no feedback what so ever, so buyer beware, another seller/scam artist trying to take advantage of ones hopes and dreams.

Agreed on the seller's rating, biggest warning sign there could be. Biggest reason I didn't bite.

However, one can imagine someone without the knowledge accidentally selling such a fine piece for a pittance. Hey, I watch the antique shows on TV, so it must be true!!

Agreed on the engraving on the wristband too, could even be photoshop.
