Omega Speedy VS Spectre SM300

Opinions - I know, apples and oranges but like the retro look of the new 300, however don't have a chrono in the group right now and my wrist is a little large for a Daytona which I've tried twice..

Thinking Omega speedmaster pro 42mm Plexi of course.

Thoughts from those who have gone both ways appreciated!

Yeah, speedy pro (plexi) would be (and is) my choice. Not to say I wouldn't like to try the SM300, but the speedy is iconic and truly a wonderful watch.

Thanks for the input - probably the way I'm going to go. Speedy is iconic and I don't have one in the herd

Speedy..

If you want a Spectre LE version SM300....wait a year when the movie is long forgotten and the premium is not anywhere near as high

Big planet ocean fan, but the 300s are a step back. Just back.

Good point. If you don't want to wait, try both watches and listen to your heart and wallet.

If I were a betting man, more than 90% would choose the Speedy.

Have you thought about the normal SM300? I like it a lot more than the Spectre LE and you can buy one for quite a bit less money.

Speedy. But I will end up with a SM at some point as well.

I was deciding between the two as well and went with regular production SM300. Do not regret the decision so far as I love the 8400 calibre and the retro design.

Spectre Edition

It's been well over a year since movie came out and prices of Spectre edition are still 10K plus. Are they ever coming down? Have 300 retro and thinking of swapping for Spectre due to satin finish, but not at 5K!

I'd jump on the Seamaster 300 60th Anniversary reissue while you can still find one ... List is $7K, but it's still about $7,500 on the gray market, but limited edition. Still considerably less than the Spectre version, and lots of cool points.

As a few have said i would get the normal SM300. Great watch which i use as my daily. You will then have the change from not getting the spectre edition for towards a speedmaster. Personally im not a fan of the spectre association with a omega but the second hand is nice. On balance i would get the normal as the numbers on the spectre edition do not look good.
