Thanks again! I am very happy with them.

Just please do me a favor and the next time I say I want to buy another pair, stop me. I need to cool down in 2018.

No no, not until you have a nice selection for every season you have wherever you are.

I started buying MTO:ed shoes about five years ago and i have 5 pairs of summer boots and 5 pairs of winter boots in different styles and colors. I might slow down a bit now...

They look fabulous by the way.

You can’t possibly be serious? Your seriously considering slowing down and you only have 10 pairs of boots.

Don’t worry Wes, your in safe hands. Just do me a favor and don’t listen to Fredrik as he knows not what he’s talking about. 10 pairs of boots, give me a break.

Two things.

1. You guys are a bad influence
2. I have no self control

Felt great. 365 last fits pretty much perfect. No initial tightness like the 325.

Awesome boots.

You could use those in another color or two.

Thanks!

I was a little concerned about the color being so similar to the Galway 2, but I do like darker boots so I guess it fine.

I am still surprised that I take an 11E in the 8695 last. Everything else has been 11.5E (11.5D for Alden).

I took some very un-scientific measurements of my Alden LWBs on the barrie last and my new Lobbs and here is what I cam up with:

Alden - 11.5D
Length: 34cm (including 1cm heel)
Widest point (across the ball): 12cm
Narrowest point (across the waist): 9cm

Lobb - 11E
Length: 33cm (including 1.5cm heel)
Widest point (across the ball): 11cm
Narrowest point (across the waist): 7cm

Even though the Lobbs are .5 smaller, they're very close in terms of overall measurements. The biggest difference is the taper towards the waist. I believe the Lobbs in 11.5E would have been larger in every measurement compared to the 11.5D Aldens.

Interestingly enough, the 8695 last looks 100x more sleek than the Barrie last. It's deceptively roomy.

Yes, Alden’s. I don’t wear suits much anymore so these are perfect for me. Have my gal trying to track a 11.5 down. They have a wing tip in a high boot too. Either would work but I prefer the chukkas.

I just noticed the little logo on the top of your picture. I’ve bought some boots from Yenni before. I’d like to visit B+M whenever I am in Seattle. It looks like a cool store.

Good eyes Wes. Indeed Yenni at B&M.

Actually from memory most Will take a full size down. I think that was across the board when it comes to all of their Last but since I only personally own one of their Last’s don’t hold me to it.

This sizing down is fairly common when it comes to shoemakers from the UK for US folks anyway although for some such as EG and G&G it’s typical to size down by only a 1/2. This of course doesn’t mean my EG shoes are shorter than my Alden’s it just means that shoemaker establishes their sizes differently.

Don’t even get me started on widths as EG D width is a narrow width where their E is considered their average width and their F being their wider width. Of course in the US we generally consider D being average and E being wide. I think if I remember correctly AE has E, EE, and then EEE and I am not even sure if they have an F.

Now that’s what I call a boot. Congrats!!

You do know once you go C&J you can never go back. You can always get some more C&J boots or something from EG or G&G, or St Crispins but you can never go back. But then again you could always get something from Viberg, or Vass, JL as well.

But hey, if you ever run out of ideas just let us know,

Right, for UK makers, E is medium and for US makers, D is medium. I think this was part of the whole C&J for RL sizing fiasco.

I am an 11.5D Barrie, but also an 11.5E 325 (C&J) and 11.5E 64 (EG). All of these lasts are very generous. This is why I was initially shocked that the 11E in the 8695 fit me so well.

John Lobb sizing is larger than EG.
