Buy new modest vehicles with cash and keep them 10 years or so. Practically/functionality is more important than luxury. I just don’t see the value. Quite the paradox, I know.

Go to Costco regularly but hardly ever get the dogs. Too much fat in them.

Still driving my 2004 F250, my 1998 HD Road Glide, but do have a 2014 Mini Cooper I bought at a bargain price in 2015.

The big question is, when will I be able to find use for the attic full of dead light bulbs I've been collecting?

I adhere to this as well, although for me the Honda Accord EX is just the right car for me (I'm on my third) and paying cash or a huge down payment is definitely the way to go.

I'll drive around on fumes passing multiple gas stations if I know there is a gas station nearby with cheaper gas

made sure I dont park my car more than the hour. If i have to then i'd spend the extra time wondering around and only check out when the hour approaches so i feel that my money dont go to waste. its sad i know.

I've pissed more money away on boats, cars and motorcycles than anyone I know.....but I've bought blue jeans and jackets from the thrift shop at the local mission more than once.

My greatest score at the mission was an LLBean leather Bombers Jacket for $17. It looks great with my ss 16800.

Oh man, thank you all for sharing these fun posts. They are funny and educational at the same time.

A couple more ( mentioned by others too), but mostly for its environmental impact than savings:
Rinse and reuse zip log bags that were used for cookies etc. in the garage ( almost never reuse for food purposes, but in garage they are great for organizing screws, leaky bottles etc. )

Buy my alcohol almost exclusively at Costco ( even cheaper than duty free shops)

For those who don’t have amazon prime, man you don’t know what you are missing. The freedom to order the thing that you realize you need right on your phone at lunch hour and having it at your doorsteps two days later becomes addictive. You definitely use it and then wonder how you lived without it.

And will make you save money. Seriously. Here is the deal with my dog food: Royal Knine small bag at pet store $15 or so. Large bag not available at the store. I order the large bag (3-4 times as much) for twice the price, and refill my small bag at home. Now a click on the phone and two days later it is sitting at my doorsteps. Even if the store had that size bags, just the trouble of making an extra stop at pet store 4 times a year and carrying it to the car etc would be worth the price of amazon prime.

Cut my own hair. Resharpen my throwaway razor blades. Use £1 damp extractors under the back seat of my car to avoid using the heater thus having to fill up less. Roll off a handful of toilet paper every day at each place I go to work. ...

Turn off water in the shower while washing with soap. Reuse Christmas and B-days gift bags. Look for discounts anywhere.

I take home some of the free sauce packets at my local pub after a lunch for things I won't use often so no point buying a jar, such as salad cream and tartare sauce.

Cut my own hair (esp since the cost of a basic haircut in London soars every year!!)
Make the wife and myself time our showers - why waste heating hot water when it's not needed!
Tap water when out for a meal - healthy (and cheaper, lol)
Take the fuel gauge in the car down to the reserve and sometimes chance it by going without filling for a few more days.
Charge my phone at work before I leave everyday so it doesn't need another charge till the following day!

Hey, these mechanical watches ain't cheap, the pennies gotta come from somewhere right? Lmao

When my wife cleans the litter box she keeps the bag of cat poo so she can add to it 2-3 more times. I bought two rolls of eco friendly (biodegradable) bags specifically for this purpose but she won’t fill them once and dispose of them. She insists on getting more than one use out of them even though they only cost $12 for a roll of 300 bags and I order two rolls at a time.

I will find a bag of cat poo in the garage near the door nearly every time I go out there. I kid around with her that she has a real problem with hoarding cat poo.

I own a Rolex(s) but I also...

Save all of our oil at our farm for burning at our hunting cabin. Also get the oil from the gentleman I run his 80’ Viking. Why waste $2000 worth of synthetic oil that fine every 100 hours. Bout as frugal as I get. I find it often takes more trouble to be cheap to save a dime than just spend the damn quarter. I have been driving my 2001 F150 farm truck all the time lately now that I had it repainted and new brakes and calipers but my father purchased it new.

Oh I thought of some others.....

Save sauce packets from restaurants

Reuse envelopes cash comes I. From the bank

Always pack my own lunch

Always take food from home when we are on the road

Split venti sbux with the wife

Buy all non-soft furniture second hand. Our house literally looks like a nice flea market

Hire out things that cost me more money to do myself and vice versa

Look at the money I spend in terms of hours to earn. Looking at purchases that way changes a lot

Typically a car flipper, we’ve settled on a crv (paid for) and a gx460 (LC prado). The gx is a certified vehicle we picked up in July for 22k off new price and I have no doubt it’ll run 400k miles. Need them both to last at least 10yrs.

Live in an 800sqft condo, it’s just me so it’s big enough.

Get $15 Great Clips haircut but only once every 4-6mo. Have them cut it nice and short and then just let it grow out for a long time.

Drink $7 bottles of wine...Borsao, it’s surprisngly decent.

Bought my sofa at IKEA.

Used to drive a 2003 Pontiac Vibe but after 9 years and hitting almost 200k miles I finally upgraded this year and got myself a new GTI.

If I want to buy a new Rolex watch I have to save up for around 2 years in most cases and therefor I always fill up my car with the cheapest possible gas on the special discount days and I buy a lot of my groceries in bulk especially coffee and other stuff with a long shelf live to save money.

Oh this one might actually be useful to many...

Instead of ordering an Iced Latte from Starbucks, I Order I triple shot of espresso and a large cup of ice. Add a little sugar to my espresso while it’s hot. Pour some “free” milk in my cup of ice, pour in the espresso over iced milk. Voilà. Took the price down from $6 to under $3. Plus I choose the amount of milk I want.
