Robert Jordan

Anyone ever read his series?

He is no longer with us, but he wrote what might have been the most epic fantasy series of all time.

When fantasy fiction was really gaining traction nearly 25 years ago, he was writing volumes of incredible stuff. Literally tens of thousands of pages.

I’ve never reread his work because it’s just such a big commitment. But lately I’ve been bored to tears with everything coming out. It’s all the same thing.

So I just started rereading his series. I’m barely into the first book, and damn. This guy was the true master.

For a while it was him, Terry Goodkind and George Martin. Goodkind flaked out, Martin sold out. Jordan died.

But imho, he is (was) the best of the best.

I have read a lot of that genre but am not a fan of his. Might give him a second look as it’s been quite a while.

No kidding. That surprises me.

I think he’s the best. He can get a little wordy. But I think he’s magnificent
