Green dial gold Daytona question?

How difficult it is to find and how long have you waited for?

Not talking about grey market or spending 500k per year at AD, I mean average person has good relationships and purchase 3 to 5 pieces from the same AD per year type.

How would we know this from your local AD/market? Ask the dealer you purchase 3-5 watches per annum from Id suggest.

Or 27.4 months

To be fair as he said, it's hard to give you an answer as everyone has different history and supply by city/country.

For me the WG blue came first and took about 6 months.

Then the YG Green was surprisingly quick, 5 months after the blue.

But to be clear, the AD supplying the YG COULD have given it to someone else which would have pushed it back 17 months approx. They get just 1 a year, maybe 2 if they are lucky. It's in demand but the pool is much small than SS which I assume is price related. Plus, as the other guy said, some AD's don't keep some PM configs on regular purchase. That means, some models and combos are auto ordered and are kept on regular stock, others are special order pieces. If you pick an AD who has requested this piece to be a regular with Rolex they may be allocated more / sooner. An AD that doesn't push these will do a special order and might have to wait longer.

Bob's Watches has a 50th anniv. on there now. I think 52k?
It is what it is when it comes to anniv. models.

Apples and Oranges.

The OP is asking about a YG Daytona with a green dial. The 116506 on Bob’s is a Platinum Daytona with an ice blue dial going for $5 shy of $70K.

Thanks for all the input.

The reason I ask is my AD told me they only received one in 2019 and couldn't even quote me an ETA.

Just want to see if the 1165008 Green is that scarce or not (not talking about grey market).

I guess if you buy 3-5 Rolex watches a year you are certainly not an average person by any means ...

You need to be very careful when purchasing that YG/green dial Daytona. Especially on the secondary market. There have been examples of YG Daytonas fitted with non-genuine green dials so the seller can make a huge profit margin. Either buy new from AD or do due diligence vetting the seller.

Great point and completely agree. 47st in NYC has several "acknowledged" mods in windows.

I would only by that piece from AD new. Worth waiting to be safe.

Thanks for your advice.

I have heard regular date sub with green bezel to pretend it's a Kermit stories that's why I want to know what is the normal allocation for AD to get a green dial YG Daytona.

Are those US months or Canadian months? I think the latter are longer.
