Fair Price for Mid Size SS DJ?
I saw a pre-owned mid sized SS DJ at a jeweler today that I am considering for my wife. It looks new, has the hangtags and hologram intact. The saleslady says she thinks they have the box and papers in the back. It has the steel dome bezel, white jubilee or anniversary dial with Arabic markers, and a jubilee bracelet. The bracelet also looks new with no stretch. They are asking $2500. I tried to get them to tell me the SN, but the jeweler was at lunch, and the saleslady said she couldn't leave the counter. The watch has an understated elegance, even with the "RolexRolexRolex" dial which I usually don't like.
Given the information provided, does this seem like a fair price or will I need the SN and date of manufacture to really tell. I know that the mid size models are not as poplular as others, but I spotted one on a lady at the bank today and it looked great.

There's a lot of variables, many of which you mention. How old is the watch, what condition is it in, has it been serviced, will it need servicing, will you wife LOVE it or just like it? The price seems to be in range for a retail...
