Now THIS is a Moon Watch!
http://www.geekologie.com/2008/11/45...s-real-moo.php
The dial is made from Moon Dust. The case is made from fragments of the Apollo 11 The strap is made from a NASA space suit. Pretty neat. I'd still rather have a Speedy Pro, though. :) |

The RJ moon series has been out for a couple of years. Usually see them in the US$10K range. They are well-made and use Jacquet movements which are pree-ty darned accurate. I've never heard of the $450K version based on the amount of moon dust used on the dial before, my guess would be that is some bad info.

Interesting concept and heritage, but they probably couldn't have made it look more ugly if they tried.

Although I'm not a massive fan of RJ, this one is quite cool as it shows technical achievement being used to create something special.
It's much better than the version they sold that was made out of bits trawled from the wreck of the Titanic, a mass grave for many, many people... http://www.romainjerome.ch/category/...s-titanic-dna/ (IMHO, of course.) |
