BTW I bolded the section above that explains the key difference between Rolex and Omega. As a publicly held company, Omega (Swatch) puts more emphasis on profits and revenue while a privately held company like Rolex has more leeway to restrict supply and think long term. Omega has to decide if their shareholders can take the short term pinch for long term gain if they decide to cut back production and restructure. So far no sign of that. |

Yeah I wouldn’t buy an Omega at retail. Who cares though, buy the watch because you like it and it brings you pleasure.

I'm new to Omega, and I understand why people would be upset about the depreciation compared to Rolex, but the quality seems to be on par (if not better depending on who you talk to). It is astounding to me that I can get a stunning watch like a BNIB Planet Ocean for half the price of a Sub. As someone who just wants a great watch to add to my collection though, I'm thrilled.

Agree. They are great watches for the money. I would say that many on here, like me, have a flipping problem. And if you buy omega at retail and try to not get hammered when you sell, well, it isn’t happening. With very few being the exception. Speedy is usually where I end up in the Omega line but the PO has caught my eye a time or two. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
