Maybe this is more your speed.

Personally I hated math anything, and my eyes glaze over when someone posed the question....when two opposing trains leave the station one going 100 MPH and the other goes 60 MPH......

Young boys would like that form of equation a lot more if it ended with the two trains colliding.
