New Gold Daytona in 2020

Absent in my current portfolio is a gold Daytona on a metal bracelet with a Cerachrom bezel. Have a yellow gold one on an Oysterflex strap , but that particular combination is missing. Do you think Basel 2020 will see the world’s most coveted chronograph arrive with a ceramic bezel in gold?

Well thanks for that helpful info - just wanted to see if someone had some insight into this. In my humble opinion it only stands to reason that this will happen, right?

i wouldnt be shocked if they kept it the same as is. A way to differentiate the 2 models since the OF daytona is cheaper and they want to keep it strictly on OF. I think they are doing same approach with GMTs... oyster only on gold models. Same reason why i dont think they will make the SS YM have ceramic bezel. they are keeping it for OF line. i am sure they like the way the Ceramic bezel/OF combo looks

Very possible.

Maybe a new SS Daytona on an oysterflex?

Would not surprise me. I really thought we were going to get one this past Basel.

I think Rolex is trying to squeeze as much OF sales as they can get before releasing a PM ceramic on a bracelet. Would be hot!

Seems that Rolex Basel success gets measured by the ss pieces they release mainly!!

I wish we could create a sticky, “No one on TRF knows, only Rolex.”

I’d not hold my breath. They’ve only just begun the ceramic rollout.

You may expect it any time soon. I believe either in 2020 or 2021! The only option that you currently have is Platona. That as well I believe will become extinct in 2020. End of lifecycle as Rolex did with 16610LV. 7-8 years max.

Tim Mosso seems to think 2020 is going to be the year of the Daytona update. Probably his gut telling him that. Doubtful anyone knows outside the Geneva inner circle.

No I do not believe so.

I do think we will get a new submariner.
