How does one authenticate their watch?

I have recently purchased a few Hublot watches that i understand are regularly faked, soooo i begin a thread with the intention of discussing potential ways for buyers to authenticate their purchases. i like the concept of doing so for multiple high end brands, but my immediate question is how to do so for HUBLOT??

Send it to the repair center of course for authentication.

Curious; what does a repair center do when they receive a replica/fake watch? Send it back to you and notify you that you have a fake or are they allowed to confiscate it? I would imagine that they would be allowed to confiscate it.

If you got "a great deal" and paid well under what similar models are selling for, odds are it is fake.

You could post pictures in the watch out section and get some views from members if you have suspicions you may have inadvertently purchased a non genuine watch

unless they return the watch to original condition, i know rolex won't work on watches with aftermarket parts or even one with rolex parts that were not available on the model originally. they will return the watch without any work being done if you don't want to replace the aftermarket parts. not sure what they do with an outright fake....??

I would hope that they have legal grounds to confiscate them.

If you go to to the RWI website you could show pictures of the watch and the experts there might be able to tell you. Additionally you can do a search of super reps and it will show you a compiled list of watches that they consider NWBIG (not worth buying in genuine). The super reps are insanely close to factory without being modified at all. Sometimes they will “Franken” a watch with genuine factory parts to remove the minor flaw(s) it possesses. Super reps are impossible to differentiate from authentic on the wrist. People get SO weirded out by it that they often fool each other by posting 1 replica and 1 authentic in side by side photos and half the time they criticize the crap out of the authentic one. Pams are super repped the best as well as the ss hublot Big Bang. Check it out sometime

You can use the "watchout" section here in the forum for that purpose.
