New Incoming - Quickly became "special"

Hello everyone!

Excited to share this beauty with you. Given the current "situation" in the Rolex market, I have been branching out into other brands like Omega and Tudors. I currently own a couple of Omegas like the Planet Ocean Seamaster in Titanium, and another Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph in steel but nothing as far as the "moon" watch goes and the regular Speedmaster didn't really speak to me.

Luckily Omega decided to release their 50th anniversary edition and the moment I saw it, I knew I had to have it! It had all the right checks for me.

Immediately I started calling local Omega boutiques and quickly found out that there is a "list" for this watch and most of the spots have been sold off. I could put myself on the "wait list" in case someone decided to change their mind but I knew chances of getting lucky this way would be slim.

Luckily I didn't give up and found a boutique who offered me a spot if I paid the full amount upfront. They told me that I should expect the watch by the end of this year and I was perfectly OK with it. Fast forward 30 days and I get a text from my rep letting me know that my watch has arrived! Not only it is an earlier number, but the production numbers add up to my birth date and the watch arrived on my doorstep the same day Apollo 11 launched into space.

On top, family and I got another exciting news which I will share with you guys sooon :D

I can't speak enough to the beauty of this watch. I know this is a Rolex forum but damn Omega knocked it out of the park with this one. On to the pictures of this beauty!

The soon to be famous "Buzz Butt" sub dial

Even looks stunning on an Omega Nato

Very nice, and per above looks great on the nato. I’m waiting for mine to come in. Am still on the fence, mainly because I am not sure about the dial colour but the feedback I have from others is that it looks miles better in the metal than in photos, so can’t wait to see it.

Thank you, everyone! I know it looks great on bracelet but I find it a lot more comfortable on the nato. Their new 3861 movement is keeping excellent time.

As for the dial color, it is much more appealing in person than what you see in the pictures.

I must say this looks better in "real" photos than in the manufactured images that I've seen. Congrats on a beauty!

Congrats! I had a deposit early on, but backed out when I saw the photos.

Today, I saw it in the flesh at the OB and in person it looks stellar. May think about getting one after all

Congratulations, beautiful watch. I too just became a new speedmaster owner for the first time. Like you I started looking around at other brand since I can’t get a Rolex model that I want. I know this is a Rolex forum so I will just say I am losing interest in a brand where every store you walk into to ask about a GMT and they have this attitude... ha your not getting one here. Meanwhile I went to a omega boutique who didn’t even sell me the watch to have it sized and they offer me a beverage, they have a technician size my watch , he gives me his email address if there is anything else he can do for me-fantastic customer service.

Congratulations!! I am on the list as well hoping to get it and looking forward to take some good pics of it as everyone says it looks way better in person than in pics.. Anyway it's a really special Speedy and that got me intrigued as well but I was late in the chasing game, hoping now someone will cancel and I get it instead, let's see!

Nice looking watch but ohhhh that bracelet. If I could get one for my standard production Speedy I would be a very happy camper.
