I bought a Tudor 79090, a 5 digit GMT and a black ceramic GMT Master 2. Not exactly moving away from the brand, but all of the above were used and private sales. Been waiting for a PepsiC since Basel last year.

I'm patiently waiting for my Sub to arrive, whenever it arrives, but I'm assured its this year so I'm fine with the wait. I actually think its quite healthy to not get what we want when we want it these days, definately puts things into perspective in my opinion.

Apart from that, my DD cant be far away from being returned to me from its service so I'll have that honeymoon stage all over again with that watch when it comes back to me.

As far as purchases go, I've revisted my love of antique pieces and just bought a solid gold Oris for my wife to add to her collection, once its serviced and had 55 years of dirt and grime cleaned out, it will sit well with her other watches and I really enjoyed the hunt for this piece.

I recently bought a Breitling Superocean (46mm, ivory dial, blue bezel) and have my eye on a Ulysses Nardine Marine Chronometer.

I bought a Grand Seiko quartz GMT after looking at a lot of watches. GS quartz is well done and tuned to +- 5 sec a year. It takes a lot to pull this off so it's interesting tech and high workmanship, also a lot less cost. Maybe it's safer to wear in some of the places I go. It does the job although anything other than my Explorer is a let down.

Maybe someday I'll buy a GMT, maybe not. What's everyone else doing? Is Rolex losing you?

Go 5 digit and tudor. Far far better proportions and made with the focus not being on wrist presence for the purpose of hey look at my wrist.

The Rolex situation with availability has not had any impact on my collecting. I typically buy what I like. I am fortunate that the Daytona-C bug has not got me and that the Pepsi GMT is slightly off for me. I have been into Paneri, Tudor, IWC, Omega, Breitling, Hamilton, Grand Seiko and Seiko for a while. I think that I am more into the 60's-70's design of watches now as opposed to brands.

I’m having a much closer look at VC. I love the overseas, and I have no use for a chrono, but have to say theirs is just beautiful

A lot of people love and respect the brand but they haven’t really embraced the current SS sports watch craze. Yes there’s the Polaris but its 1) too big for me and 2) just doesn’t really do anything for me (apart from the new blue model for the US).

I like the older GMT's, especially without the jubillee bracelet, just need more patience to wait for the right price on a good one. So many watches are 42mm and larger, wish others would stay at 40.

Have fully refurbished my apartment lately. You get quite a lot of quality stuff for what was supposed to be money for a submariner

Rolex secondary prices have gone up so much that they are approaching AP territory. So instead of paying 24k for a Daytona, I got on a true reasonable list for a Royal Oak and scored it at 19.2k. Best decision I ever made. AP is worth every penny. Daytona not worth 24k, Pepsi not worth 18k etc..
