16570 Polar
I got my 16570 Polar out today. It's my old friend, my favorite Rolex. Wears so well, excellent legibility, and iconic. I bought this watch in 2011 when the 216570 version came out, which I still don't like.

Nice! The 16570 is a great, underrated reference, in black or white. Soon you'll need to post about it over on the vintage forum.
And agreed about the modern Explorer II. Way too big overall and with hands that are too big proportionally, IMHO. The 16570 has a sporty elegance to it that is sorely lacking in the current version. |

Big is subjective :). It's still a flat watch afterall. I have 6.75" wrist and I've worn 44mm Breitling divers and Omega smp 42mm and the new ExpII wears somewhere in between the Breitling and smp. But it's a thin watch.
I'm on the AD waitlist for the new version. I'm ok with the lug-lug size but I feel if Rolex had kept the new version to 40mm, they'd sell this in boatloads. |

I always say, Buy and wear what you like, not what others think!
Not everyone likes the same think. |

I would almost consider getting one myself in time if they brought back a 40-41mm but kept the Maxi-dials |

I have both white and black dial 216570's. Just added the black dial 16570 to the collection and I like it a lot more than the 6 digits. I think I'll be adding a 5 digit polar at some point.

That was my 1st Rolex in black. Still the most comfortable watch I’ve owned, one day I’ll get it back but not at the $3800 I paid for it!

I love the 5 digits and explorers are so comfortable to wear. The white dial is from 2001 and the black one is from 2007.

Likewise, my 16570 is my best wearing watch out of the collection.

Perfect in almost every way. Here's a shot from last winter. Hope we have another hard one coming up.
