Carbon Case ROO Owners: Talk to me.
So I love my steel 44mm ROO, enjoying it immensely.
I told myself that I was going to get one AP, and that was the one. And it is. (insert I told you so remark here...) But I'm smitten by the carbon version of the watch, and also with the Jarno Trulli. For me, the steel model will stand the test of time in that I feel it will still retain its character after 20 years. But thinking of picking up a second one... My constraints are that I do wear suits most of the time, so the only options that I'm looking at that are subtle enough, if that even is a fair term here, are the ROO 44mm carbon and the Jarno Trulli. For those of you who currently own or have owned a carbon case AP, let me ask an honest question: have you grown tired of the look? If you can share any experiences on owning an exotic material cased piece how long it has stayed in your favor. I have to admit the carbon is very comfortable to wear. Thanks again guys, looks like I'm going to totally slide down the AP slope.... Oh and some pics.

I have the Bumblebee and I'll be honest.... I love the forged carbon case. I am anal about micro-scratches and swirls on S/S cases, hence CapeCod polishing cloths were my best friend. Not only is the FC case light, but hides any of these imperfections. I have had my Bee for about a year now.... not a single tiny scratch on the case. As for the bezel.... ceramic is also the way to go if you are worried about banged up bezels!
Love my Bee and will stay in my collection for sure! |

The plus :
very light and cool looking watch. No need to take out from yoour wrsit when you're entering xray in the airport :) The minus : do not scratch it, you scratch it unfixable. |

I dont like the newer 44mm Carbon, prefer the Steel over it.

Have had this one since it's introdution.
Have never grown tired of it. Super light weight and very comfortable. Not a mark on it either. I don't think it could be my only watch but I don't need to worry about that.
The new 44 mm carbon ROO is sweet. Take the plunge! |

Carbon? The absolute best material for a large sports watch. It's so light that I've banged my wrist on things because I forgot that I was wearing a watch. Fortunately the ceramic and sapphire provide an awesome shield. While the case can't be repaired, replacement ensures you get a perfect case vs a polished case with potential flaws. It hides scratches exceptionally well so it would take a heck of a ding to warrant replacement.

Forged Carbon Case ROO's are so comfortable on the wrist. JT is even lighter than the Bee for some reasons. Wearing the JT literally feels like not wearing anything at all, so light.
On another note though, the lightness of these watches often contradict the conventional (but wrong) belief that only fake watches are feather light. I love it, so low key lol. Whatever you choose man, you can't lose. These are such fantastic watches. |

Really? Are the caseback and pushers also made of titanium on the JT? That's the only difference I can think of.

I've been wearing my Bee on rubber so I didn't even think about the hornback strap.

Do it! It looked great on your wrist last night and you like it, that's what really matters.

1) JT uses a different type of rubber strap from the Diver's strap. It's thinner and much lighter. 2) Clear see-thru caseback 3) Titanium pushers and crown 4) Though both use the same "ceramet" bezel, if you hold one to another you'll see the difference in color. Idk if this is contributing to any weight difference but the two do not share the same bezel to be perfectly precise. |
