Breitling Datora new release
What are your thoughts on this piece ? The msrp is ridiculously low sitting at 13k and I am expecting it to take a hit of at least 15-20% when being resold on the secondary market.
In my opinion I would wear this everyday and can't wait for it to be released |

If you consider that MSRP as "ridiculously low" then I'd like to ask you for "a small loan!" :D

Buy it at 20% off. Issue resolved.
Breitling is one of the few brands that can pack a dial with a crap-ton of stuff... and it still looks both purposeful and attractive. |

I think it is a great looking watch and I am waiting for my AD to get one in so I can try it. This maybe one that I am willing to take the Breitling hit on. If you go to sell this watch after it is readily available start at 40% off msrp and go down from there depending on condition. Just a fact of life in the Breitling world. Great watches for ownership, not so much for selling or trading.

GORGEOUS WATCH -
However, and sadly, this watch will drop 65-80% in value, just like every other Breitling.. If you have to have it, maybe buy an older Montbrilliant instead for 3-5K?? |

The more I look at this, the more I like it. It may find its way into my collection. Love the blue hands!

I got to try this on today at my AD. A stunning piece which looks even better in person than in the photos. My only quibble is that it does wear very big, particularly due to the height. With my 6.5 inch wrist, I'm going to have to pass.

Shop around and you should get 20-25% off.
I use Saltzman in Newport RI. Richard is the SA and will ship to you. No tax if you are outside of RI. |

Ironically it's safe to say that patek coined this design from breitling as breitling was the pioneer in chronographs

The watch looks great, it's only sad watch enthusiasts of today can't tolerate a watch dropping in value.
Being hit with a (big) loss seems unacceptable nowadays. There was a time every watch dropped in value, also Rolex. Just like anything else that you buy and use. But it was something that gave you pleasure and enjoyment. And yes, that was worth the cost. Today that is no longer true. The pleasure has to come for free.

Breitling and JLC are killing it with their recent calendar chronograph releases. I know JLC is in something of a different category, but with discounts you can own either the Datora or Master Calender Chronograph at around $10,000.
To be honest, I actually think Breitling's is a touch better looking. I also like the size at 42mm. The copper/salmon dial is beautiful. This and the new blue dial Duograph are my two favorite releases from the brand this year. I bought a silver dial Chronomat B01 42mm last year and I have not been disappointed. |

Also I think JLC is on par with ALS and even FPJ which makes the decision easier. |

I'm loving the new Blue 41 Pilots chrono with the easy strap change system. Hope to test drive one of those soon!

I really want to add a Navitimer back to my collection, but I am also loving the new Duograph. I need to see both in the flesh again, I just know I want a blue dial. |

This is the first piece from Breitling to wow me in years.
The copper dial is sublime, and the price very reasonable. It’s one I am definitely interested in, and will be looking forward to trying in. My biggest concern is it being too big or to thick, but we shall see. Also curious to see how this fares on the secondary market. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
