Icon4 More advice needed! Can’t sleep!

I’m in a real quandary here!
I have both colour Daytona ceramics, I’m not convinced they are quite large enough.
I can either swap out for the following combinations.

White gold Daytona oyster flex and gmt LN
white gold yacht master 42 and Pepsi.

I know the Daytona is a superior watch to the yachtmaster but the dimensions and glide lock appeal.
I’m 6foot 2, 17 stone with a 71/2 wrist

Help!

Time to move them on. Crude example but you wouldn’t buy trousers that were too small. If you feels it’s small. It is. The Daytona hype train is full steam ahead but it’s not everyone’s journey.
I find it small for my 7 inch flat wrist, no date. It’s a beautiful watch like the Jaguar e-type arguably one of the nicest looking watches. But if it doesn’t fit, move and and find something that’s more comfortable and pleasing on the eye.

I think waiting for it to “grow on you” is a waste of time. You could sell one and keep one if you really wanted, then keep the white dial as it looks bigger and the centre rings match the bezel and

Go Daytona Pt and you'll never worry about the size again. If the size is really your only issue than go for a YM as it's also a great watch. IMHO,I like the Daytona better but I'm not you at 5'8" and 170 lbs.

Is your heart set on a YM? Have you considered other PM models?

It’s just the size really, I’ve had two Audemars this year, quality sucked but I love a rubber in the collection.

What makes you think that any Rolex is more superior than any other Rolex, is your assumption based internet hype, or price. Myself 6ft but now only around 14 stone, but still have 8 inch plus wrists. But still quite happy to wear some of my vintage watches which are 30mm.Myself my own man and wear what ever watch I like, thank god not stereo typed to this size stuff with some of todays age. My advice is buy the watch you want to own wear irrespective of perceived thinking any watch is superior to any other watch.

The Skydweller is quite the size and impressive in full PM.

Agree! Move the Daytonas and buy something else you are motivated to wear

I was in the same boat as you are now. Bought the Daytona mostly driven by hype, had it for 4 years but it never got used. Too small and just didn’t wear well with anything.

Traded it for a WG Sky dweller and in 3 weeks I’ve worn the Sky more than the Daytona in n the last 4 years.

I’ve also owned the Daytona due to hype but it’s definitely too small for a modern mans watch and looks better on a ladies wrist in my opinion.
I don’t know why you know a Daytona is superior to a yacht master?
I would definitely take a yacht master II or sky dweller over a Daytona every time, they both look better and have more complicated movements

Why sell a Daytona for another Daytona? It won't be any larger.

The case of PM Daytona’s is bigger and lugs are different. Overall quite a more substantial look for the PM Daytona’s.

I would seriously consider a VC overseas dual time in blue with a 7 1/2 inch wrist, stunnig imo.
Had a chance to buy one a few weeks ago, but passed as I´m patiently wating for a blue Overseas

SkyDweller would fit a big wrist.

40mm is fine, marketing and internet reading convinces one something is too large or small. Now, if it’s too small for you to read that’s a real issue and not a made up one.

I’m interested in this topic - do the PM Daytonas with the slightly larger case really wear bigger on the wrist? Can you notice the difference compared to a 116500? For me bigger isn’t better. So I’m curious to hear your thoughts on the subtle size increase between these models.

I'm almost the exact same size in height, weight and wrist. I have tried to move toward the daytona because I love the design, but always find the size doesn't work for me.

If the idea is that a big person needs a hub-cap on their wrist, then perhaps you do not see yourself the way that others do.

I don't think you really want a watch. I think you think you do and are really just bored.

Maybe take a step back and not buy anything for a while. There really may not be a watch out there that you truly like yet.
