Should I trade my SBGN003 for an Oris?
I just got my 9F GMT in February and was wondering if I should trade it in for an Oris Aquis GMT? There hasn't been a lot of threads about the Oris and wondering if anyone here has had experience with it?
Thanks! Here's a few pictures I found online: |

I like that model Oris. But it has to much bling for me and propriety lugs are a no go. Still a really nice watch though.

What don't you like about the GS? While I'm not a huge fan of that particular GS, I do regret letting go of my grand Seiko quartz diver. I've tried on the Oris 65 a few times and liked it, but the quality is going to feel a notch down in my opinion. If the Seiko is something you're really not getting along with I'd move it but you'll probably take a decent hit, and if you don't end up liking the Oris you'd take a good hit too. I'd try keeping the GS if you can and then add the Oris.

Good point! I love the size of it, I think it fits my 6.8 inch wrist perfectly. I just found out about the Oris and started thinking if I should have gotten the Aquis GMT instead.
Come to think of it, I have an 116610ln and the new SMP Professional in blue. I think switching to the Oris would make my collection diver heavy. Quote:

It's one of my favorite watches. I bought it on the bracelet and added the OEM strap to it. I have I think 5 various Aquis 43.5 divers, so it's safe to say I am a fan. I would recommend it highly, but if I had that Grand Seiko, I wouldn't consider trading it, but adding the Oris. |

Keep the GS.
Oris is a great brand, but GS is a higher quality watch. |

No comparison between the two in terms of build quality. You would be losing out on that deal.

That’s a hard no. The GS finishing is far above Oris and on the level of a PP. the movement may be the best quartz movement period and the gs is the more versatile watch by appearance. The oris is a far more chunkier sport watch.

I'd do it, because I really like the dial and bezel of Oris Aquis GMT. Not a fan of the 9F GMT's bezel.

I don't typically go for quartz watches, but in this case, I would stick with the GS. As others have said, the Oris would be a step back. Especially with those lugs. Choose the one that speaks to you. Good luck with your decision.

I like Oris and have owned a couple, but I would keep that lovely GS and add the Oris if possible. The Oris GMT is a nice piece, and one I'll take another look at if they release a black dial version. One slight downside is that the GMT hand is not lumed.
A good review of the Oris...

No comparison, you want to trade up a dress watch for a diver? Still, out of that two, GS is a better watch, period!

That Oris is cool but it’s not a GS. Still you have to decide what ‘sings’ to you the most.
