crown guards look thin to me, bevels don't seem original (someone made them) imo

I agree, case has been re-profiled. Material may have been added to the case to build it up.

The dirty lume, especially at 12 o'clock, would drive me nuts. Case has been polished too much. There are better examples out there for this kind of money.

Many thanks, doesn't sound good....It is so complicated to find a very nice 5513 with all matching, good condition, right parts and bracelet....Would like or a meter first or a Maxi MK1/MK3...

They are out there, but as Eric Ku says: search for the good watch, not the good deal.

Thats what I do

Well, it's a matter of taste. These bevels look nice, I admit, but I prefer unpolished even when it has marks over a recut case. Besides that, the crown guards look thin to me, so that's why I would pass, also the stain on the dial. But this is an endless discussion, because it's a matter of taste.

My taste is everything original, everything matching with year production, no fake lazer blablabla and nothing from service.

Well, yes, you're not alone. However, the reality is that watches that are 40-50 years old very rarely meet all that criteria, especially nowadays. And when those perfect, perfect examples do come up for sale, they're very expensive.

The trick, IMHO, is to find a vintage watch that checks most of the important boxes, but might have been polished lightly (and well) in the past, or perhaps might have a service bezel insert, for example. You can ALWAYS find some issue with an old watch. That said, I'd pass on the example you posted.

You'll increase your candidates if you're a little more flexible, and also save some money.

Good luck in your search.

He has a good point though. Not because it generally have been a good deal to buy perfect. Rather because wearing a great watch will keep you happier in the long run.

To the original poster; be patient. Great examples do come around. C24 is probably not your best bet to find them. Dealers will sell great pieces faster than they can do a listing on C24 or even on their own website. Follow dealers and collectors on IG and I think you will soon be hunting for better examples.

Best of luck!
