Would you do this trade for a 5712?

Hey folks

A bit of background:

As many of your know I'm on the journey of hunting a 5712. Fortunately, I can afford the purchase, specially given that I am already funding 50% of it by not upgrading my 5167 to 5164 (I'm glad!)

So that means, I just need about another 25k to go, which I have in cash.

Also, as part of my collection I have a AP ROC (blue) 26320ST, which I have an offer for about $22k.

Here's where my question starts:

Question:

1. Trade in my 26320ST towards 5712?

2. Keep 26320ST and buy with cash?

I'm semi biased to keep, but is it worth keeping, or is it better to trade in? Am I giving my ROC too much importance, or too little? Should I think of consolidating vs not?

Anyways, I hope you understand my conundrum.

I would keep the blue dialed AP.

you are going to have a hard time fitting a blue dial RO and a Nautilus in a rotation. One is going to hog all the wrist time so might as well let the AP go.

Im wearing my AP RO today for the first time this year. Its a great watch but i never seem to pick it anymore.

Are you getting it through an AD or a grey dealer

Grey. Sadly ADs won't even put me on a list.

I would wait and go AD route, by doing that you don't need to pay a premium and can keep the AP. 5712A is not very hard to get if you have a good relationship with an AD

I'd wait too, if I had the means to get on a list.

I used to have that ROC but in RG, and would sell it for the 5712. I much prefer the newer version's colour combos so that would have been a harder choice.

Sell the AP and get the 5712. Consolidating will give your keepers more wrist time.

if u have the means to do so, wait until u have the 5712 to decide if the ROC can go.
u have a speedy pro and a daytona on the list to come...so having a 3rd chrono may end up giving u enough reason to release the ROC.

I’d dump the ROC and move along. If it’s even considers on the trading block it’s as good as gone anyway. The 5167 will be gone soon too for the 5164. Great watch but that’s just how it works when it comes to Patek.

I’m moving the ROC. The 5167 tho, I think it’s a different watch than then ‘64. For example I love it on the bracelet enough to keep it. Feels to me like the 5513 of Patek. But when time comes, I’ll see!

But I feel great with making this move. Certainly less guilty and a great lineup.

I’m going to be keeping my core as: Speedmaster (my first), Sub (hulk), 5167 and 5712.

I guess I’ll be doing an incoming as soon as DavidSW hits me up!

Thanks all for helping me come to a decision.

Nice choice. I am a strong believer in variety, but it makes little since to keep a piece if it’s just going to sit in a case / safe. In fact, I’m seriously considering a major change with my higher end pieces.

A RC, 5167 and 5712 is a pretty awesome trio, if you can afford to keep the ROC I would keep it, having some sort of RO or ROO in a modern sport collection is pretty much a must for me, and since you can afford it do it, if you couldn't afford keeping it I would have said trade as I prefer the 5712, but since you can keep it
