First Purchase Complete - Explorer I mk2 [And found a great SoCal AD]

So after lurking for a few months and a lot of agonizing over models and ADs, yesterday, I found a great AD in SoCal and they had the watch that I wanted first so I jumped on it and purchased.

First the watch - I decided to go with the Explorer I mk2 as my first purchase - and as the BLNR as my second (twin boys so I must have one to give to each when they get older ). I am absolutely in love with this watch.

Here it is on my wrist:

Now as some of you may recall from the other thread, I am down in San Diego, and it seems our ADs suck. I was taking my family up to LA this weekend and decided to check out an AD recommended by another forum member. Boy was it the right call. Unlike San Diego they don't have the sheer volume of foot traffic clients and they actually value long term relationships with customers - exactly what I was looking for in an AD to establish myself with. Even though this was my first purchase from them they gave me a great deal on this purchase and they were able to get me on their BLNR list and the wait is only a few months which is much better than the 6+ page / multi year waiting lists at the San Diego ADs. I am happy to give contact info to anyone who PMs me (I just don't want to toss up a phone number on a public forum - no big secrets here).

Look forward to more great info and conversations on this forum!

That is a great watch.

My first was a DJ36 with jubilee, I wanted something that said "Rolex"... I was young and stupid for thinking like that .. So I sold it, and got what I really loved sonce the beginning, the Explorer i. The watch that spends the most time on my wrist.

Im sure you'll love yours for years to come.

Here's a picture of mine that im quite proud of .

Few updates:

1) Lumi Shot mainly because I found these sorely missing when I was shopping and I wished I knew what it looked like in the dark:

2) Lovely Day in San Diego - BBQ time!

I love that watch. I love the BLNR too. Strong one, two punch. And so awesome that they were able to accommodate.
