I've been looking at this watch and asking myself is it a watch that I could wear.

It is 37mm wide. Now O.K. it is a dress watch but it is still slightly on the small side.

However that 37mm becomes smaller when one takes into account that the outer ring is the date, so the hands and the hour and minutes function is smaller, yet again, than say a regular 37mm watch.

So although it is a nice watch and a $18,000 price tag is significant (white gold), I would have to say this watch is not for me on aesthetic grounds.

However the movement is a piece of art.

I'm not sure how water resistant this watch is, if at all, but with those expensive leather straps...well let me just say, you would take it off before washing the dishes.

I would pass on the watch. If you plan to wear it as a dress watch, I would reconsider because the dial is way too busy.

too small for me.
i get a desire to get a patek every now and then, but when i try one on in my price range, its always too small. the 40mm or larger are always complicated pieces and those are double or triple of what i want to spend.
Pateks are great as an investment, though.

Too busy for a dress watch, would consider the Calatrava line if you want a strict dress watch

Thanks guys, your opinions do pretty much reinforce my own.

After wearing 40mm watches a lot and being comfortable with that size, paying a lot for a Patek with a smaller size....well it just doesn't seem like what I would like....

I've worn a GMT 1675 everyday for 25 years and retired that for a Sub date a few years ago, so I have a long history with 39-40mm watches.

Put the Patek on and wear it for a few days and you will be amazed how beautiful and comfortable it is. I wore one of mine all last week and then switched back to the Sub I was constantly reminded how heavy it is and not in a good way.

After a few days you get used to the watches either way but a dress watch in my opinion shouldn't be huge.

Looks too busy for me. I find that half of the Pateks I really don't like, the other half I truly LOVE.

I love Patek, I do not like that one at all.

VERY busy!

When I buy a Patek I will be selling half of my collection to pay for it as the ones I like
start around 60K (but Id likely buy gray or used to save quite a bit)

That is one PP that doesn't appeal to me. The dial is too busy, IMO.

37mm is 1mm larger than one of my favorite watches, the DD. I personally like the dial of this watch, but to each his own. 36mm is the size of Datejusts and Day-dates, so I don't see the size being that big a deal. But that's me - and I will say that if the size bothers you now, you'll probably never really like it. Look at a used Jumbo Nautilus or Aquanaut if you like a bigger Patek.

I love this model, just saw it in person about a week ago for the first time. I didn't think it was $18,000 though, the list is $24,600? At $18,000 I would consider it.

Just some pictures from Google I found, I love the silver dial with the brown strap, really has to be seen in person.

Edit, I now see the OP posted the black dial model, the picture didn't load for me before. I like the silver one below much better...

Personally I would prefer a Patek calendar with more traditional cutout date display -- the 6000 dial just has too many numbers on it for my taste.

While I love many Patek references, this one doesn't do a thing for me. If it were me, I'd pass. My 2 cents.

The size of a watch in mm does not give a good idea of how big it will wear. Anything over 40mm for a dress watch and it starts to look a bit ostentatious in my opinion.

37mm is certainly not an issue....but that watch is just too busy for my liking. The movement is beautiful but the dial looks too much like the oris pointer date to me.
