Thr explorer 1 preowned is not hard to save for. Besides , you'd most likely walk out from a trade in the red.

I'd save for the Explorer I. While I chose the explorer I over the sub when I was deciding between the two, since you already have the sub and the older explorer I is relatively inexpensive compared to the sub in the 2nd hand market then I'd wait for it.

Ymmv but I'd have the Explorer. I had a 14270 and I still say it's the best all-round Rolex ever made

Personally, I would not consider the trade. I would keep the 14060 and save for the other, as numerous others have pointed out. I have a 14060 and would not trade it for anything.

I think 99% of TRF would tell you to keep the sub while the rest will tell you to pick up the one that sings to you.

Dont do it. I let my 14060M kit go as part of a trade to get a 16710ln and I am still regretting it. 114270s are not difficult to find, save. In retrospect, I should have just coughed up the $5000 as I will never be able to get a 14060M kit at that price again.

Going to the Explorer would be a downgrade.

I'm sad.

After all these years I was hoping for an outcome. I'm sad.
