Water tightness after opening the back

I just had my SS Submariner adjusted as it was going a bit too fast. It was done at an RSC while I watched and waited. I noticed the guy opened the back of the watch and after he was done he used a machine to screw it back on. I thought every time they opened the watch they had to put it through a pressure machine to make sure it's still water tight to 300m. Should I be concerned?

Well normally they should have done a pressure test as well, now if the RSC opened your watch. Then it falls on them if you did have any watch problems but would seriously doubt if you will.

I would have asked for a pressure test. A while ago I had an old digital Tissot repaired because one of the buttons got stuck. This was at a regular watch store in the mall. When I picked it up the next day, they gave me the pressure test print-out from their machine. Totally didn't expect it. Although I would expect an RSC to do it on everything.

But in any case, it's still very unlikely you're going to have any problems.

+1

While a problem may be unlikely, the pressure test would be something I'd view as confirmation of process.

But I readily confess to being a belt and suspenders guy.

I am very interested to hear what our in house watchmakers have to say.
