Discount on SS Sub

How much would an acceptable discount on a SS Sub be? Keep in mind that it is brand new, MY name on the papers, untouched by anyone except the people at Rolex that boxed it, and myself. Oh, and I will be paying cash money.

I really think you could get 20%. I'm serious. I've seen a lot of them out there and cash speaks. Don't forget, it you don't ask, you can't get it. Good luck.

20% seems to be the norm...Try for higher and then go lower if no one bites.

You can get much better. Do not settle for under 20%.

The SS Sub date is a popular model, but I would gun for 20%. I was offered 20% by an AD on an EXP II.

Find an AD that has more than one, see when it was stocked, and many times, there's been one or more price increases since they owned it. You're not ripping them off, you're just looking out for a fair deal.

I would even buy from out of state if I get a good enough deal.....but I am dead set on brand new where my name is on the papers.....I know, I am nuts, but if I am going to spend that much money on a watch, I want it my way.

I'm sorry, I'm not following. Regardless of where you purchase the watch, if it's new and from an AD, your name will be on the papers.

I'm sure you can get a good deal in state. Have you asked the AD where you purchased your previous Rolexes from? I'm sure he/she would not mind giving you a better deal for your loyalty.

Good luck

A couple of years ago I could get 15% off, now I would not buy one for less than 20% off.

I bought a Sub LV yesterday. It was the first time I had ever been to this local AD. I got 22% off and didn't pay cash!

You should. The worst they can say is "no", which only hurts them.

If Time got 22% without cash, you can probably get 25% or more with cash.

Clearly this must depend on where you are in the country..

Absolutely nobody who is an AD in my neck of the woods will give any kind of discount like some of the guys are talking about on a Stainless Steel Rolex...

You can get 10 to 15% off on some of the TT and solid gold models...

Most AD's are full service Jewelry Stores and do not make their money on selling only Rolex watches....... and cash is meaningless for the big franchise Dealers; your buying from a salesman who couldn't care less how you pay for it...

Yeah, the place I am buying it from is a family owned jewelry store (so I am told) and they offered me 10% right off the bat.

I would offer 30% off and see what happens. 25% off is the least I would expect. If not I would go grey.

FYI I dropped by my local AD and there was a total attitude adjustment, and they didnt want me to leave.

Now is the perfect time to buy and dealers are trying hard to earn your buisness.

Good Luck!

Just bought a Stainless/white gold/Turn O Graph/oyster bracelet and got 25% off. Had to go out of state but Boston was under 2 hours away. Just ask trust me in this economy the sales staff does not want you to walk out of their store.

Agree with the previous post on NO discounts on Rolex sports models from certain ADs. I'm in New York City and they do not budge at all on the retail price. I was in the market for an LV or 14060M recently and tried several Rolex ADs, including Tourneau and Wempe. Nobody would offer a discount, despite my "Wow, even in this economy" comments. They said they could offer discounts on non-sports Rolexes, but not on sports models. A salesman at Tourneau said Rolex closely monitors the prices of their sold watches and the store can get in trouble if they give discounts. Sounded like B.S. to me, but that's the line he gave.

you would be insane to pay full price for a rolex or any other watch right now

if your AD won't go 25% - get the name/number of a trusted AD from someone on the forum here who mail out of state. Many will be happy to.
then you get your 25%-30% and don't pay tax, and have all the paperwork from a AD with your name on it!

I bought my 14060m Z COSC two days ago from Tourneau in Huntington,Long Island and got 10% off. I think alot of places will deal in this economic enviorment.
