I guess I just really enjoyed the BLRO by taking it everywhere and to be direct, that is what the passion is all about

I am away again on business, the watch is in Singapore and being handled by some of my closest friends, home life is perfect, second baby on the way, can't complain about anything!!!
Sorry to read this, Steve.

However, there are many lessons to be learnt from your posts on this matter, in particular the one above, which can applied to many of life's unpleasant situations. I, for one, would do well to take note.

Glad you got that beautiful timepiece sorted, mate

Ouch. Glad to see you managed to sort it pronto as well, and all things considered, at not too hefty a cost.

Before I bought my Subs, I had concerns with regards to how the ceramic bezels would hold up against knocks -- I'm a careless person, and often walk into door frame, cupboards, shelves... you get the picture. From what I understand, all ceramic bezels cost the same, and I was quoted in the region of $1k (my country's fluctuating currency does not allow me to quote a set price!).

Btw, congrats on the new incoming :-)

Wow! such a small bang to crack the insert...? I would have them check the tolerances. It could be many things. The insert had an edge. The bezel not perfectly round. The insert was binding... and the slight bang craked it where it was binding...?

It may be the "Small Bang" Pun intended, but I would feel more comfortable if you could raise the question to RSC. Just so they could be on the look out, instead of a simple replacement...

Wow that is crazy to see an actual cracked ceramic insert...and on a BLRO no less

While it's off you should ask the tech to see if it will fit on a stainless steel model to answer that question also!

mate!!!

Really appreciate that!! You know exactly how it is, family and work with things like this taking a far back seat to what is really important

Personally I wouldn't waste what little time I sadly spend with my family talking or telling them about my bezel insert. I think my wife would just laugh with a really comment to follow.

Life is way too short.

Hope you are golden and the air has cleaned up in Singapore!! I was chokeing in KL:(

I am certain I banged it. I really do not want to bother them to spend too much time on it. I have a feeling they will check it out and check all of the tolerances as they are very detailed orientated, however I did not request any report.

As soon as it comes back I will gladly report back pretty sure they will find the impact !!!

Rashid - Not sure what updates you want.
The OP stated it cost 1K for a new insert and he was happy with the watch in all aspects.

If thats a ding I see on the outer ring at that exact spot, it may have bent in and, shattered the insert. Its like the iphone screen, a knock on a corner places stress on the glass and one day wake up and your screen has a crack down it emanating from that corner. Cerachrome ceramic is not disimular to glass, it has zero tensile tolerance.

Considering it's 3 years and a few months later, I'd think it was resolved with the replacement.

Ya that is a bummer, sorry. We know that part of the cerachrom bezels claim to fame is its everlasting beauty due to not fading or scratching but we're also aware of its possible cracking or shattering. Obviously it's going to be more costly than an aluminum insert. Sorry you have to be the first test pilot to find out the hard way. I (we) hope it's not too much.
