Received a Daytona C and second wonder case for xmas
My wife and my AD conspired to surprise me for Xmas this year. There was a Daytona C with black dial under the tree and a second wolf winder which I desperately needed. Sorry the pic quality not great

Congrats! Your wife is a keeper. :) I have a couple of questions: did you mention black dial before or did your wife prefer the black one? 2 what are the Panerai models you have? Can’t see too clearly in the photos.

short history on the watches - my philosophy is to buy what i want to wear and wear what i buy. I have always bought from a boutique or AD and i have never sold a watch i bought. While i sometimes feel a desire to go after an older vintage/collectible, i have never pulled the trigger rather decided to buy new and wear each watch into its own vintage designation Breitling and Omega GMT Great White were first two mechanical watches bought in early 90's...i thought they both wore big at the time. Still wear both occasionally for christmas 2003 my wife asked if i liked the 16610LV sub or the 16600 seadweller. They were priced at $4000 and $4400 respectively in Tyler TX and just sitting in the case. I naturally said i like both - she delivered with the LV for xmas 2003 and the 16600 for valentines. At the time i did not know about flat 4s or Y serial numbers. And I still wear the LV regularly today and why not it looks great. In 2007 was my first PAM and it was the 243 sub with T dial which now has nice patina. The SDDS and PAM 317 K came in 2009. I love so many things about the DSSD but the narrow band does make it wear top heavy....thinking of a Rubber B for this one and get the newer SDDS with the 22 bracelet. The 317 is one of my favorites although i am told if i continue to wear it the PVD on the movement will eventually flake. I am going to wear until it happens 2010 I tried the IWC Big Pilot and liked it...more comfortable to wear than its size implies. over the last eight years i have added two more sea dwellers the 4K and the SD43, the latter in 2016 coincident with my own 50th and also a favorite of the bunch. I also added the 114060, a titanium Proplof and hesalite Speedy and PAM 1351 and lastly the Daytona C arriving under the tree today. Have watched with interest the feeding frenzy over these SS rolex sports watches. I think they are great so can understand. I may consider a GMT in the future if one becomes available but i am ok waiting. |

Congrats and great looking collection. I'm a fan of the Speedy and Big Pilot as well.
PS- your wife could clean up giving lessons on how to do Christmas right for your watch enthusiast hubby.

With a nice Christmas gift like that, typos are understandable. Surprised there weren't more. Congrats!

That's unreal, never seen anything quite like it. Very nice.
FYI - my brother recently bought a Big Pilot and it's a super watch. Just sayin'. Happy Holidays Mark Sent from my SM-A520W using Tapatalk |

A serious question about a winder case if I may. I have small wrists so all my straps are set small and when I’ve tried winders before, most watches don’t fit... the winder is presumably one size right, and set for an average to larger strap size?
