Choosing my 58 over my SubC

It has been two months with the 58 and can’t believe I still 100% prefer the Tudor on the wrist. It is that perfect, in every way. I am likely selling my SubC outright, or switching to a 5 digit reference.

At this point I like the idea of owning the 116610 more then actually owning / wearing it! The only benefit I personally see is the strong trade equity the SubC brings for future releases.

Well done 58!

It’s kept the BLNR off my wrist too. It’s a brilliant watch

Along with the Pelagos LHD, this is one of my favourite Tudors. This would be absolutely perfect if they didn't have the faux rivets on the bracelet.

Agree on all points you’ve mentioned.

Mine hasn’t left my wrist since November and the others are gathering dust!

The rivets really aren’t that noticeable when you wear one mate. They appear more prominent in pictures.

I agree. Only up close you’ll see them

No faults at my end, it’s just perfect. The maxi case and wide lugs on my BLNR/LVc never really bothered me, but this is so much more proportionate.

seems like the consensus among many is this watch is as great as you say - may be the perfect watch!

Big fan of the 58 here. I don't own one, but have tried it on multiple times and it's a stunner, my favorite Tudor reference by a mile.

The 14060M is my daily and it wears very similarly to the 58. After wearing a 5-digit (and in your case the 58) for an extended period, the SubC feels very large, almost chunky. Even though the listed dimensions are similar for the SubC and 58/14060M, the thicker lugs and crown guards give it a much larger footprint on the wrist.

It has far more of that classic tool watch appearance and thinner lugs making it better proportioned as well. So it’s not surprising you like it more. I would consider the 16610 if you want a sub, but the watch you have is very similar in many ways.

Couldn't agree more. I keep leaving my Daytona and BLNR in the drawer and strapping the 58 on. It's really well done...

They nailed that dial. I prefer it over the Sub as well. Looks like it fits you perfectly. For me it wears too small, but I really do love it. My Tudor GMT has pushed my Datejust to primarily safe queen at the moment.

It is a sweet piece for sure. It’s not a Rolex. It’s not in the same league. It does however draw considerably less attention then a 6 digit Sub and that’s probably what draws the owner to them. You can definitely accomplish the same effect (well almost the same :-)) with a 5 digit Sub.

No harm in selling the sub. If later you regretted it they are easy enough to find again. Nice Tudor!

No, you can't. The tuna can clasp and bracelet are not even close to the solid feel and comfort of the Tudor. I've owned both.

Not to mention it's a much more interesting watch to look at. Just my two cents of course.

I wear my 58 more than my 16610 or my 16760. It feels better on the wrist than both.

I agree about the dial. Rolex really needs to do something other than the super glossy dials on the sub. The matte finish on the Tudor black bay dials is superb!

...and, the BB58 bracelet is slimmer and more comfortable than the ceramic sub bracelets. The clasp is much thinner as well. I will take the 58 rivet bracelet over the chunky Rolex bracelet any day.

You must have a fairly small wrist. My 79230 (41mm Black Bay) looks smaller in my wrist than that does in yours, so not surprised to hear that you prefer it to the sub c.
I fully agree that these new Tudor’s, while not a Rolex, really do represent a great value especially when purchased used.

It's a 39mm.

Mine arrived this morning, my first ever Tudor.
I'm truly blown away with the quality and feel. Wears perfectly on my small wrist.

The faux rivets I do not like much (don't hate them either), but I don't notice them after a few hours on the wrist.

Has to be one of the top 3 of watches @ this price point.
Well done Tudor/Rolex

Interesting to read your thoughts on this one. I bought both a BB58 and 114060 at the AD this past Saturday, and I think I'm liking the BB58 more. The shape and proportions of the case are just perfect. The Rolex has the prestige (sorry to be superficial), but the case just feels so blocky and chunky.

The 58 is incredible, complements a good old sub perfectly in my opinion even though they're both divers!

The 114060 wears more like a 42mm. It’s significantly larger on the wrist than the 58 or a 5-digit or 4-digit Sub.
