Sky-Dweller

Just came across the Sky-Dweller after looking at GMT. Being a world traveller I love the center dial. Are the Sky-Dweller (Steel with blue or black face) as hard to come by as the SS watches (i.e. GMT, Sub) at ADs? Can they be ordered?

Blue dial extremely difficult to get from AD, black is also difficult to get. Unless you are a VVIP with your AD.

Blue dial has a wait at most ADs, black less so, but still not common.

Here in Istanbul , Blue SkyD is one of the most "hard to get Rolex" same as Daytona C.
Black is also difficult but not as much as Blue ...

I thought the watch will be bulky , but it fits really nice. Besides, the blue dial is stunning

I hear this a lot in the Tri-State area as well.

The two tone Sky-Dweller are much easier to get. Back in March, you were able to order them. Not sure what the process is today. SS are very hard to get.

I don't think black and white are hard to find. I was offered black dial last week but I picked CHNR 2 tone instead. I preferred to wait for the white dial.

Take it with a grain of salt but anecdotally I’d say Rolex isn’t producing many Skydwellers period. Despite the hype here over the SS blue there is much less demand overall for the Skydweller versus the more traditional sports like Subs and GMT’s.
My high volume dealer says they get probably less SS Skydwellers than any other mainstream model. Have never seen any SS color in the case but they always have gold ones and usually tutone on display.

SS Sky-Dweller in any dial color makes for an excellent watch.

My AD let me choose between blue and black dial - I went with black. The blue dial is trading in the aftermarket for more than the black or white dials, however all are well above retail. I was buying the watch for me to enjoy, not in consideration of resale potential, so the black did it for me.

All the steel SkyDs are hard to get. Blue the most. But man I love me some sky

The Skydweller is such an interesting piece. It seems like it would be great for a one watch guy. I don't know if I could pull it off with my 7" flat wrist but my 42 Polar seems fine. I think the Sky may wear larger. Just thinking.... It's always been intriguing to me. Love the SS, black dial.

Got the opportunity to get either the black or the the blue dial, both are great but the blue worked for me, I think is a more versatile option

The Sky D is the only watch I like in TT for some reason, it just looks “right”.

Hi there,

The black dial of the TT and the SS are different, as the batons and the crown of the TT is executed in yellow gold, whereas on the SS I guess it’s white gold.

Thanks. I couldn't figure out from the photos in the Rolex website.
