Navitimer Re-edition vs Original

Just picked up the re-edition from my AD (also carries Rolex and Patek, my main purchases). When it was launched in Basel, I immediately ordered one as it was a copy of my old Navitimer and I thought it would be very cool to have both.

Here some pictures:

I know the vintage guys would call me a heretic, but I would much rather have the re-edition of this particular watch.

Mark, thanks for posting. The re-edition looks like an exact replica in the pictures.... What's your impression?

Harry, I have not found any difference yet. I assume it is a perfect copy of the old version. Very well made and very happy with it. Movement is of course different and smoother to wind.

This is awesome - thank you for sharing! Getting antsy with waiting for mine to come in now. Have often looked at vintage Navi's but just don't know enough about getting a good one so having what is essentially a brand new exact remake of the aesthetic I love so much is pretty much perfect.

Exact...execpt for the start/stop and resent buttons are slightly different angle if one looks closely.

I agree. Its vintage, with none of the headaches. Slightly better water resistant, same look, far better movement, and easy to source parts if something goes wrong.

Just beautiful duo. I’d been searching for an original 50’s beaded bezel 806. The re-edition really has filled that role!

Question: why is the bezel number 55 crooked? Are the numerals applied on and not painted onto the bezel ring? Just curious. And I wonder if the re-edition used the same technique.

If your early Navi is fitted with the V72 movement, it would explain the difference in the angle of the pushers referred to in an earlier post as the V72 top pushers are closer to the crown than the bottom pushers.

Got mine today. Very happy with it. It's the one chronograph that 'spoke' to me :)

Fantastic watch. I stumbled across one at an AD a couple of weeks ago and snapped it up. Wasn't in the market at all for a new watch (now, THAT'S heresy) but I could not pass up on it.

I also prefer it's slightly smaller dimensions, which are a better fit for me than the Old Navitimer I bought twenty years ago.

This "re-issue" is an absolute winner.

Same with me. Went to the Breitling boutique to drop off my Aerospace for service and they had one available. Couldn't pass on it and I'm extremely happy I got it.
