Independent service in the UK?
I'm about to buy a calatrava 5117r, having always owned Rolex watches before where independent servicing is possible by so many independents.
I gather Patek take several months and have been searching online for an independent service specialist but can't seem to find one, does anyone know of one here in the Uk please? |

Bit of advise let only Patek work on a Patek. I learned my lesson on my 5066

Robert Loomes of Stamford are watch & clock makers, and they have just created their first in house movement (they still use modified Smiths in their cheaper watches) they can service and repair other brands too.
Whether you would be better off sending yours to Patek is up to you to decide. Phone them up and have a chat. |

They can’t do anything other than straightforward repairs. If the watch case needs laser welding, or serious refinishing, or large new parts are required for the movement, then it’s back to Geneva. And it can take months and months and months for these things to come back. I’ve had a Chrono and and AC take 8 months.

Doesn't David Duggan at the Burlington Arcade have a watchmaker that service Patek watches? Or do they send out their watches to the London Salon for servicing?
