Honestly, if it were me I’d look into a Sinn model. Can’t go wrong there.

As an operator, G-Shock or Suunto Core. Nothing metal or shiny. Those are the top choices of the guys in DevGru. And that's certainly good enough a recommendation for me!
If I were deploying with Space Command it would be an Omega Speedmaster. Silent Service: Sea Dweller.

(Assuming Rolex) Explorer II when they release it with a ceramic bezel this year :)
Honestly the Exp II or the 116710LN would be perfect choices for AD military IF they truly had the disposable funds. But most don’t. |

Presumably it's appropriate to the role, audience and ultimately salary
Low key battery powered. Hard as nails. G shock? |

I wore Timex and Casio for 25 years in the Air Force. Since I actually worked I would not have worn anything nicer just to screw it up.

If it's going to be a Rolex the Expll black sounds right to me. You have a tough piece, A legible beauty yet under the radar with a Gmt function.

Definitely a Snyper. You can mount accessories to a rail on the watch and list price is o ly about twice that of a sub.
Luckily gray market sellers are selling Snyper watches at about 80% off. Last edited by outdoors_guy; 24 February 2020 at 02:43 PM.. Reason: Edit did not post |

What is your military job....? I could never see myself wearing a Rolex in the Ranger Regiment, it was G-Shock all day, doubt you'd see any Special Ops units using any expensive watches, unless specifically designed for them..

Another vote for G-Shock if you have anything other than a desk job. Anything solar is going to be better than battery powered.

While in the USN I bought a polar 16570 in 2009. If I had still been on board a ship I would have worn it daily. However soon after I purchased it I volunteered and was assigned to a NSW unit and getting deployed to Afg. so I went with a G-Shock. It all depends on your assignment.

So when the SAS chose a Rolex to make for themselves they chose the Exp II. https://www.sothebys.com/en/buy/auct...ence?locale=en
I also read an article about Tyrone Woods who was an ex SEAL who was killed in Libya. He posted here once and wore a Sea Dweller. https://www.rolexmagazine.com/2017/1...ods-story.html So it seems both of those are good choices, |

So many Sinn’s would work well and thank you for your service.

Depends on your branch and military specialty. Combat Arms would be a G-shock or Pathfinder.

My life long friend that flew SR-71s told me they liked Breitling. In my time in, I never saw or heard of any Rolex taking a crap. Many others did. In eighteen years at Pad 39 I saw many Astronauts with Rolex. Go with what You trust. It's only Your Life that depends on it !

Being in the Canadian Navy for the last 15 years, I have seen the basic Timex and Casio watches the most. Wearing a $10K Rolex while sailing or being deployed is not the smartest thing in my opinion.
My "sailing" watch is the Marathon GSAR or the TSAR and as a back up the Casio DW-5600. Lawrence

I wear my 116710LN on a black two piece nato strap in USN working uniform. The GMT hand is quite helpful, and the rotating bezel functions as a workable timer when needed. When I am in service or dress uniform, I wear my 116261 silver dial on a jubilee.

I wear my 14060M Submariner 24/7/365. AD Air Force 2005 - Present. Bought it 7 years ago when my son was born and it’s currently on it’s 3rd desert trip with me.
