Hello everyone,
New to Rolex watches, I purchased a pre owned Daytona ref:116523 recently. I love this watch and the sales & service experience via the internet was excellent. Unfortueately, I was not knowledgeable enough to think to look at the bracelet link screws under magnification. If I had I would have noticed two of the bracelets screws were buggered up. 1 link and 1 clasp screw. The condition of the watch was excellent so I couldn't imagine someone ever using the improper tool to remove or add a link. In this case they added a link. My 3 day inspection had passed so it's now my burden to find replacement screws. I called Bob's Watches and they said they had no clasp screws to spare, unobtainable. They said I represent about 1% of the pre owned customers who would let that bother them, it gives the watch character and its screws are original to the watch. I personally disagree on a modern watch (2013). If I was to purchase a pre owned exotic car can I justify the 6" scratch on the passenger door as character? With that explanation, I kinda feel like someone was pissing on shoe and telling me it's raining outside. Love the Forum and all the contributors who make it a great site. Hope to learn much more about these amazing watches. If anybody knows where I can get factory screws please let me know. Adam |
