Difficult Problem
I'm hoping someone can help with with a frustrating problem that I have regarding my c 1964 Rolex Day Date with President Bracelet in yellow gold. I truly love this watch, but it remains somewhat loose on my wrist. All removable links have been removed, and there is no adjustment on the bracelet to close this gap.
I just got the watch serviced, including the bracelet, and it's in excellent condition. Is there such a thing as a half-link? If I remove another link from the bracelet, it will probably be too tight. Are there any other ways to adjust this band a little tighter? Any suggestions from the Rolex experts? |

OK - Not one response to my question. I suppose the reason is: there is no solution to my problem other than removing a link from the President bracelet.
Does anyone know how this would be done? Could the link be re-attached to the bracelet if the resulting size is to small? There are obviously pins connecting the links -- how big a job is it to remove them? Also, what is the length of 1 link? It's either remove a link or just go back to a leather strap. It just pains me to put this bracelet in a drawer. |

Did the bracelet get loose over time?Is it stretched badly?Either way I am 100% sure you can get it to fit your wrist properly and comfortably. If you could post pictures of the bracelet and clasp it might help.Is it a hidden clasp with no adjustment or the buckle type?Links can be removed, repaired, etc by a good goldsmith. I have been in between links myself and it drove me crazy during the summer I was miserable.

Thanks for the response - It's a hidden clasp. Here are three pictures of the bracelet.

Someone else on here had this same problem and posted about the solution a few days ago somehwere on the site. His answer was to get a jeweller to cut a link(s) in half and weld them up again back into the bracelet.

Yeah i guess they would but they wouldn't sell you one as a part i don't think. You'd have to send them the bracelet to fit it. I think they'd charge a fair bit more than $15 too....
Or you could buy an after-market link that size and have that fitted by a good jeweller. |

There is a pad you can put on the caseback that will take up some slack in the bracelet. Might be all you need to do. Look at member Sheldon's website here.
